Fredo Fired by CNN
[NY Post] Embattled CNN anchor Chris Cuomo has been fired by the network, in the wake of new revelations about his close involvement with the political woes of his brother, former Gov. Andrew Cuomo.

"This is not how I want my time at CNN to end," Cuomo said in a statement issued by a representative.

"But I have already told you why and how I helped my brother," he continued.

CNN confirmed the firing in a statement, and said that Cuomo had been "terminated ... effective immediately" as an outside law firm continues to investigate "his involvement with his brother’s defense."

#2  They're not done with Fredo. Note these ominous phrases about "additional information" that they will "continue to investigate":

The network stated, “We retained a respected law firm to conduct the review, and have terminated him, effective immediately.

“While in the process of that review,
additional information has come to light. Despite the termination, we will investigate as appropriate,” the network continued.

#6  Ref #4: CNN's OPSEC just got better.

My guess is CNN wishes to limit knowledge of Chris Cuomo's multi-agency intelligence 'reach back' capability within CNN's network of sources, talking heads, and advisors.

CNN now has a serious case of the cooties. The fear of discovery and litigation may have put their contacts and sources to flight, at least until the Cuomo crisis finds the memory hole. To assume Cuomo did not utilize these people to further his efforts is simply naive.

Again, just a guess.

#13  #6 Bingo. CNN is staging a pre-emptive strike, or risk of same, to preclude discovery at trial.

That would open up all kinds of mischief and skullduggery involving, most likely, collusion with Steele, Simpson, Fiona Hill, and most damningly, Brennan and other CNN paid shills' crimes related to the Big Russia Hoax.

#14  ...Apparently Fredo Chris was VERY angry about his firing, having been led to believe that there would be a pro forma suspension, then a return to the air once our attention shifted to something else.

My takeaway there is that something else popped up and they are, as Merrick suggests, 86'ing him NOW before it gets even worse.

Of course, it's going to get out eventually, so I can't wait.

George Soros' network of woke DA's he has bankrolled in cities across the US: How the Billionaire Democrat megadonor gave Chicago's Kim Foxx $2M and Philly's DA - where murder has doubled - got $1.7M
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Soros donated $2million to a PAC that supported the reelection campaign of Cook County State's Attorney Kim Foxx

  • Cook County's murder rate is the highest it has been since 1994

  • He also donated to a PACs that prop up Los Angeles District Attorney George Gascón and Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner

  • Soros is most known for donating to Democratic presidents Clinton and Obama

  • The Hungarian billionaire spent $3m on seven local DA races in 2016

  • In 2020, he pumped $28million into Democratic elections across the US
Soros bolstered her re-election campaign by donating to the Illinois Justice and Public Safety PAC.

Attorney Buta Biberaj is refusing to recuse herself from the case to remove School Board Chair Brenda Sheridan, despite what district parents say is an apparent conflict of interest.

Fight for Schools, the parent organization that filed to remove Sheridan, has now also filed a petition to remove Biberaj - who received a $861,039 contribution from the George Soros-funded Justice and Public Safety PAC during her 2019 election - from the case.

#3  It's simple.
You give money to a non-profit organization that you have created. the non-profit can give as much as you want to any candidate.
The law allows this but you can't give more than a few thousand dollars directly to a candidate. And if you do so, and that candidate is a Republican you may well go to jail.

Biden Administration State Department Official To Keynote Pro-China Gala
[Free Beacon] A top State Department official is set to deliver the keynote address at a gala hosted by a pro-China group that wants to give the country a free pass on human-rights abuses.

Jose Fernandez, the undersecretary for economic growth, energy, and the environment, will speak at the U.S.-China Business Council gala on Thursday about the Biden administration’s bilateral approach to China. Chinese ambassador Qin Gang will also speak at the event, which is sponsored by the council’s corporate donors.

The council is one of Beijing’s most effective allies in Washington. The group, which represents hundreds of American companies that do business in China, has lobbied Congress and the White House to soften language on bills that would sanction China over human-rights abuses against Uyghurs, according to Politico. The Washington Post reported that council officials took part in a conference call this week with Chinese officials who urged American companies to continue their support for the Olympic Games in Beijing. Calls to boycott the games have grown following the disappearance of a Chinese tennis professional who alleged she was raped by a Chinese Communist Party official.

Fernandez’s address to the pro-China trade group comes as the Biden administration and congressional Democrats signal a willingness to ignore China’s human-rights record in order to win cooperation on climate change. The White House has pressured lawmakers to kill a bill that would restrict imports on goods made in Xinjiang, where the Chinese government is carrying out genocide against Uyghurs. Senate Democrats quietly excluded the bill from consideration on Wednesday, the Washington Free Beacon reported.

Democratic Socialists of America won’t expel Rep. Jamaal Bowman for trip to Israel
“In the short term we have to tolerate such things to get to the long term, donchaknow. Kinda like Erdogan and his tram stations.”
[IsraelTimes] Group, which supports boycotting Israel, says it still sees him as an advocate in Congress for Paleostinian rights, despite visit and Iron Dome vote

Ever since he entered Congress this year, Rep. Jamaal Bowman has tried to walk a fine line between those who support Israel and its fiercest critics.

On Thursday, he got a signal that his balancing act was working: The Democratic Socialists of America — which endorses the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against Israel, or BDS — opted not to expel Bowman for a trip he took to Israel last month with the liberal Israel lobby J Street.
The straight up Progressives who pretend to be pro-Israel — well they would be, if Israel were still run by the Labour Socialists — is a wholly owned subsidiary or Soros, Inc.
Activists in the DSA had called for Bowman to be expelled for the trip, in which he met with Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, as well as for his recent vote to give Israel supplemental funding for its Iron Dome missile defense system. (The trip also took Bowman and his colleagues to Paleostinian areas of the West Bank.)
”Jews are icky, and anyone who talks to them is tarred by the same brush. Not racism — only Republicans are racist.”
But in a statement, the DSA’s leadership said that it would not expel Bowman because, in the big picture, it sees him as an advocate in Congress for Paleostinian rights and against what it calls the "Zionist lobby."
Protocols of the Elders of Zion stuff right there.
The group said it "strongly condemns" Bowman’s trip and Iron Dome vote. But it added that Bowman has "continued to criticize the Israeli government, while challenging his constituents to recognize Israel’s roots in the Nakba for Paleostinians." ("Nakba" is the word meaning "catastrophe" that Paleostinians use to refer to Israel’s creation, when many Paleostinians were expelled from Israel or fled
...mostly fled, planning to return in the train of the victorious Arab armies for the traditional pillage, plunder, and rape of the conquered juices...
and were prevented from returning.)
Photo at the link of Rep. Jamaal Bowman with Sally Abed and Alon-Lee Green of Standing Together, a progressive Jewish-Arab grassroots movement, during his visit to Israel as part of a Congressional delegation arranged by J Street
“We recognize the threat that Bowman and other members of the squad pose to the Zionist lobby and the important role DSA can play with them in advancing Paleostinian rights and anti-imperialist struggle at the federal level," the statement said, adding that the DSA would not endorse Bowman in next year’s Congressional election "unless he is able to demonstrate solidarity with Paleostine in alignment with expectations we have set."

The statement came after other activists, including the global BDS Movement, defended Bowman. The BDS Movement, in a statement that did not name Bowman, nevertheless said, "Partners are best positioned, we believe, to decide their objectives and strategies according to their context’s nuances and political particularities, while upholding the movement’s principles."

Bowman represents parts of the Bronx and Westchester, including neighborhoods with large Jewish communities, and has sent a range of signals on Israel in the 11 months he’s been in office. He has sponsored legislation to place conditions on aid to Israel, but voted for the Iron Dome funding. He’s sent out a fundraising pitch for IfNotNow, the left-wing Jewish group that frequently allies with BDS supporters, but also works with J Street. He has also met repeatedly with the Israeli consulate in New York.

He doubled down on taking the Israel trip in a Q&A with a group of college students this week, when he endorsed the establishment of a Paleostinian state alongside Israel and said Israel has a right to defend itself. He expressed a desire to return to the country and he also criticized Israeli leadership, including Bennett, for opposing the establishment of a Paleostinian state.

"Working with Israeli activists on the ground is really, really important because I’m telling you, I felt it," he said at the event on Monday. "There was this, ’Y’all aren’t over here, y’all in America, y’all can’t tell us what to do’ kind of vibe coming from some of the leaders that we met with."

Virginia GOP completes sweep of elections with House win
[APNEWS] A three-judge panel overseeing a recount in a close Virginia state House race upheld the Republican candidate’s victory on Friday, a decision that also reaffirms the GOP’s takeover of the chamber and completes the party’s sweep of last month’s elections.

Republicans also claimed the statewide offices of governor, lieutenant governor and attorney general in the Nov. 2 balloting. Those wins were a dramatic turnaround in a state where the GOP had not won a statewide race since 2009. Democrats still hold a 21-19 majority in the Senate — where elections won’t be held until 2023 — splitting control of Virginia’s state legislature.

The certified results from the election showed Republicans leading in 52 districts and the Democrats leading in 48. The recount in the 85th District race resulted in Democratic incumbent Alex Askew gaining 12 votes, but he still trailed Republican challenger Karen Greenhalgh by 115 votes. There was one contested ballot. The panel found that the intent of the voter was unclear, so that ballot was not counted for either candidate. The 85th District covers a portion of the city of Virginia Beach.

After Democrats requested recounts in two races with razor-thin margins, that left open the remote possibility of a 50-50 split.

Though the second recount, in the 91st District, is still expected to proceed next week, Democrats no longer have a shot at undoing the GOP’s majority. Askew is an incumbent freshmen first elected in 2019, when Democrats flipped both the House and Senate.

After the recount results were announced, Askew thanked his supporters, campaign staff and volunteers.

"While this is not the outcome we hoped for, I continue to be filled with optimism for the future of our Commonwealth and of the city of Virginia Beach," he said in a statement.

House Republicans — who won 52 districts, according to the certified results — had said they were confident their candidates’ leads would hold.

"With only one recount outstanding, House Republicans are excited to begin working for the people of Virginia. Now that the majority is official, we can move forward with a timely transition as to be prepared to work on day one," Speaker-designee Todd Gilbert said in a statement after the results were announced.

Outgoing House Speaker Eileen Filler-Corn praised Askew for his work in the House and congratulated Greenhalgh on her victory.

"While the results of the recount did not change the initial outcome of the election, it was a necessary step to ensuring faith in our Democratic process. And a similar, necessary process to ensure every vote is counted will occur next week in House District 91," Filler-Corn said in a statement.
