Al-Shabaab attacks a small town in central Somalia
[ShabelleMedia] Militants from Somalia’s al-Shabaab
...... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all of which have enough problems without them...
attacked a military base in the central Galgaduud region on Friday, the group and a local government minister said, prompting violent mostly peaceful festivities as the army and allied clans sought to repel them.

The early morning attack in the village of Qayib, which included suicide boom-mobiles, comes as government forces have made a number of battlefield gains against al-Shabaab in the last three months, regaining territory with the help of clan militias.

The al Qaeda-linked group, which controls swathes of Somalia, had lost the village of Qayib to the government forces a few weeks ago.

"We had information that al-Shabaab was attacking us, so last night we were all vigilant waiting for them. We hit their cars that had been loaded with bombs with rocket propelled grenades, foiling them before they entered the base," Ismail Abdulle, one of the clan fighters who are known locally as "macawisley", or "men with sarongs", told Rooters from Qayib.

The information minister in Galgaduud, Ahmed Shire Falagle, said government forces had foiled the attack and was in control of Qayib.

However,
by candlelight every wench is handsome...
Al-Shabaab’s military operations front man, Abdiasis Abu Musab, disputed that account. He said the fighters had taken Qayib, killed soldiers and stolen military vehicles. He also acknowledged al-Shabaab’s own forces had suffered casualties in the attack.

Both sides often give conflicting accounts of battles. Somalia’s local information minister said he would provide an update on casualties later.

Somali state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
, citing a ministry of information statement, also reported on Friday that 15 al-Shabaab fighters had been killed in an air raid at Bulo Madino in the Lower Shabelle region.

Somalia’s government said on Wednesday that 49 al-Shabaab fighters had been killed in an operation in Lower Shabelle.

The group has killed tens of thousands since 2006 in its fight to overthrow Somalia’s Western-backed central government and implement its strict interpretation of Islamic law.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] The Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i Petroleum Company on Thursday announced the US-backed Saudi-led coalition seized a diesel ship and prevented it from reaching the port of Hodeidah.

The official front man for the company, Essam al-Mutawakel, said "the US-Saudi aggression coalition, in its desperation to increase the suffering of the Yemeni people, detained the diesel ship (Primorye) despite being subject to inspection in Djibouti."

Al-Mutawakel indicated that by seizing "Primorye", the number of fuel ships held by the aggression coalition raised to two ships.

He held the coalition and the United Nations

fully responsible for the humanitarian and economic repercussions of the continued piracy on fuel ships.

Turkish Military Shells Syrian Forces In Kobani
[NPASYRIA] Ottoman Turkish forces shelled on Friday night a post of Syrian government forces in the countryside of the city of Kobani in northern Syria.

Locals told North Press that two artillery shells fell on the outskirt of Tel She’ir village, some 4km west of Kobani.

Since November 20, intense and wide spread aerial operation is being carried out by the Ottoman Turkish forces against north and northeast Syria which has claimed tens of lives and destroyed facilities and infrastructure along the whole border strip from Aleppo northern countryside in the northwest up to Derik (al-Malikiyah) in the northeast.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
no further reports on damages or casualties have been reported so far.

About 20 Syrian soldiers have been killed and dozens more were maimed in the recent Ottoman Turkish bombardment on north and northeast Syria.

Two Rockets Target Coalition Forces In Syria — CENTCOM
[NPASYRIA] US Central Command (CENTCOM) said on Friday two rockets hit its base in the town of Shaddadi in the southern countryside of Hasakah Governorate, northeast Syria.

"Two rockets targeted coalition forces at the US patrol base in al-Shaddadi," the CENTCOM announced.

"The Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) visited the rocket origin site and found a third unfired rocket," the CENTCOM said in a statement.

Earlier on Friday, a military source told North Press that four missiles were went kaboom! close to the US base and the building of al-Jebesah oil fields at the outskirts of Shaddadi.

The CENTCOM added that "the attack resulted in no injuries or damage to the base or coalition property."

Following the attacks, members of the Internal Security Forces of North and East Syria (Asayish) deployed in the region amid intense flight of helicopters and warplanes.

"Attacks of this kind place coalition forces and the civilian populace at risk and undermine the hard-earned stability and security of Syria and the region," said Col. Joe Buccino, CENTCOM front man.
A few details from Rudaw at 9:20 p.m. ET:
Two rockets targeted a US patrol base in northeastern Syria late Friday, the third such attack in nine days, US Central Command said. Centcom did not indicate who fired the rockets but said, in a statement, that they aimed at "coalition forces at the US patrol base in al-Shaddadi, Syria".

The strike at about 10:30 pm (1930 GMT) caused no injuries or damage to the base or coalition property, said Centcom, which covers the Middle East region.

The US troops support Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), which are the Kurds' de facto army in the area and led the battle that dislodged the Islamic State

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group (IS) from the last scraps of their Syrian territory in 2019.

Hundreds of American troops are still in Syria as part of the fight against IS remnants.

"Syrian Democratic Forces visited the rocket origin site and found a third unfired rocket," Centcom added in its latest statement.

On November 17 rockets targeted the coalition's Green Village base which is in Syria's largest oil field, al-Omar, near the Iraqi border, Centcom said at the time. There were no injuries. A war monitor, the British-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights which has a wide network of sources in Syria, said that strike came from "a base of pro-Iranian militias".

Such groups have significant influence in the Syria-Iraq border region.

In another attack, a Ottoman Turkish dronezap on Tuesday killed two SDF fighters and posed "a risk to US troops", Centcom told AFP earlier. That strike hit a base north of Hassakeh city, also in Syria's northeast but farther north.

Turkish threats leave Syria Kurds in fear for Kobane
[ARABNEWS] In the Syrian Kurdish city of Kobane, gripped by fear of a Ottoman Turkish offensive, Saleh Abdo Khalil passes an open-air "museum" of buildings reduced to rubble.

"ISIS destroyed these buildings," the local baker said.

That danger has passed, but now, he says: "Turkiye wants to destroy the rest of the city."

Since Sunday, Turkiye has carried out Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s against the semi-autonomous Kurdish zones in north and northeastern Syria, and across the border in Iraq.

Those raids, which started in Kobane, have killed 58 Kurdish fighters and Syrian soldiers as well as a Kurdish journalist, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said.

Ankara has threatened a ground offensive and made clear that Kobane, also known as Ayn al-Arab, would be a primary objective.

US-supported Syrian Democratic Forces, now the Kurds’ de facto army in the area, led the battle that dislodged ISIS fighters from the last scraps of their Syrian territory in 2019.

Years before, in 2015, Kurdish forces drove ISIS from Kobane, on the border with Turkiye, and the city became a symbol of their victory against ISIS.

To keep the memories of the combat alive, Kurdish authorities erected a cordon around a group of destroyed buildings, burnt-out vehicles and missile remnants, dubbing the area the Kobane "museum."

While the football World Cup in Qatar

They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
has captured some residents’ attention, tension can be read on their faces.

Most fled the combat with ISIS before slowly returning and rebuilding.

"We fought ISIS for the whole world, and today the world closes its eyes and acts like an ostrich while Turkiye bombs," said the baker Khalil, 42.

One week after a bombing in Istanbul on November 13 that killed six people and maimed 81, Ankara said it launched air strikes from "70 planes and drones" against Kurdish bases in Iraq and Syria, starting with Kobane.

Turkiye blamed the Istanbul bombing on the Kurdistan Workers’ Party — designated a terrorist group by the EU and the US — and said it was ordered from Kobane.

Dozens of casualties as Iranian security forces fire on protesters
[ARABNEWS] Iranian security forces opened fire on protests after Friday prayers in the restive southeastern province of Sistan-Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, leaving dozens of people dead or maimed, activists said.

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
has intensified a crackdown on protests sparked by the Sept. 16 death in jug of Mahsa Amini, a 22-year-old Iranian woman of Kurdish origin.

Campaigners had called for nationwide demonstrations this week in solidarity with Kurdistan, which along with Sistan-Balochistan has borne the brunt of Iran’s deadly protest crackdown.

"Kurdistan, Kurdistan, we will support you," protesters were heard chanting on Friday in a video from the Sistan-Balochistan capital Zahedan, one of the few Sunni-majority cities in Iran.

"Kurds and Baluchs are brothers, thirsting for the leader’s blood," they sang in other unverified footage posted on social media, in reference to Iran’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei
...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...
Activists said later that the security forces had opened fire on protesters in the city.

"Dozens have been killed or injured," the London-based Baloch Activists Campaign said on its Telegram channel. AFP was unable to confirm the toll.

BAC shared a video showing a group of men carrying a man who appears to be maimed out of what it said was Zahedan’s Makki mosque.

Demonstrators also erupted into the streets of the Sistan-Balochistan cities of Iranshahr, Khash and Saravan, said BAC and the 1500tasvir monitor.

Oslo-based group Iran Human Rights said the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps had used military equipment, including heavy machine guns, to suppress the people.

The Revolutionary Guards have built up their presence in restive Kurdish regions.

The Kurdish-populated provinces of western and northwestern Iran have been hubs of protest since the death of Amini after her arrest in Tehran for an alleged breach of the country’s strict dress code for women. On Tuesday, IHR said the Iranian security forces had killed at least 416 people, including 51 children and 27 women, since the protests broke out.

Its toll included at least 126 people killed in Sistan-Balochistan and 48 people slain in Kurdistan province.

More than 90 were killed during a mass shooting in Zahedan on Sept. 30. Friday’s protests came a day after the UN Human Rights Council voted to create a high-level investigation into Iran’s bloody crackdown.

Iran condemned the move, saying it is "useless and represents a violation of the country’s national illusory sovereignty."

A prominent Baluch holy man, Molavi Abdolhamid, used his Friday prayers to call for an end to the repression of protests through arrests and killings.

"The people’s protest has shown that the policies of the last 43 years have reached a dead end," his website quoted him as saying.

More Revolutionary Guards armored units and special forces were heading to the west and northwest border regions, home to the Kurdish minority, several state news agencies reported, after earlier reinforcements were announced on Sunday.

The Tasnim news agency showed a photograph of smiling Revolutionary Guards commanders standing on a military vehicle and saluting a long line of troops.

Iran has accused Western countries of orchestrating the unrest and accused protesters in ethnic minority regions of working on behalf of separatist groups.

Molavi Abdolhamid also used his sermon to denounce the reported abuse of detainees.

"Things are said about the mistreatment of women in the media that are heavy and I can’t bring myself to say," he said, apparently referring to reports of alleged rapes of detained women.

The UN Human Rights Council, which on Thursday voted to start investigating Iran’s crackdown, has demanded the authorities halt the violence.

Iran deploys armored units to borders with Kurdistan Region
More on this story from yesterday.
[Rudaw] Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) on Friday announced that they were strengthening their forces on the borders with the Kurdistan Region through deploying armored units and special forces, aimed at preventing exiled Kurdish opposition groups from transporting weapons into the country.

"The IRGC ground forces are resolutely dealing with the factors of insecurity in the region by strengthening internal forces in the border area of the western and northwestern provinces of the country with the cooperation of the zealous local people," Iranian state media cited Commander of the IRGC's ground forces Mohammad Pakpour as saying.

Pakpour cited "movements" of Kurdish opposition groups on the borders and in the country’s westers Kurdish areas (Rojhelat) as reasoning for the decision to deploy armored divisions, accusing the groups of creating "mischief" and smuggling arms into the country.

Iran
...Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979...
has struck bases of Kurdish opposition parties in the Kurdistan Region at least four times within the past two months, accusing the parties of encouraging and arming the ongoing protests at home.

Khalil Nadiri, spokesperson for the Kurdistan Freedom Party, told Rudaw’s Hemin Baban that the IRGC have deployed tanks, armored vehicles, artillery, and drones to the Iranian borders with the Kurdistan Region in recent days, and have also increased their forces in the Kurdish cities of Baneh, Marivan, and Piranshahr.

The Guards are responsible for the harsh crackdown that is ongoing in Rojhelat where at least 40 protesters have died in the space of a week.

US-based Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reported that as of Friday morning, 445 people including 63 children, in addition to 57 members of the security forces. In the Kurdish areas, the number is estimated to be at 98 protesters including 10 children.
