[WMCACTIONNEWS5] Three suspects arrested in connection to the shooting of two law enforcement officers in Memphis appeared in court for the first time Monday.
They along with an unnamed 17-year-old suspect are all charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder.
The suspects, 19-year-old Barium Martin, 19-year-old Adairius Armstrong, 18-year-old Julius Armstrong and a 17-year-old, are all charged with two counts of attempted first-degree murder and the employment of a firearm during a dangerous felony. All appear to be heavily-tanned White Supremacists
Memphis police say on Friday an MPD officer and an ATF were investigating a carjacking.
According to court documents, people in a red Ford Focus started shooting at the two officers near Peach and Leath, hitting both of them.
Police say none of the officers’ injuries were life-threatening and neither returned fire.
The officers were treated and released from the hospital.
In court on Monday, the suspects said few words, answering a judge’s questions with "Yes, sir" and "No sir."
Adairius Armstrong and Julius Armstrong were assigned a court-appointed lawyer.
The judge said Barium Martin’s family was in the process of trying to hire their own lawyer.
The name of the 17-year-old suspect has not been released.
The three adult suspects will be back in court on Friday.
[Breitbart] A Texas rancher living north of Eagle Pass discovered five unaccompanied migrant children abandoned by smugglers on their farmland Saturday night. The five small girls, ranging in ages from one to six years old, were led across the Rio Grande River and abandoned the evening before. The human smugglers left them with no food, water, or any adults to care for them throughout the night.
The rancher’s wife shot a video when they found the children on Mothers Day Sunday morning. The frustrated woman expressed their displeasure for the dangers the children faced throughout the night and the seriousness of their situation. Temperatures reached 103 degrees on Sunday and the children appeared to be exhausted and dehydrated.
The ranchers’ employee and his spouse helped care for and comfort the abandoned children while they awaited the arrival of Border Patrol agents.
This incident comes as the Biden Administration opens additional Health and Human Services (HHS) Intake Sites to accommodate a surge in unaccompanied migrant children being smuggled into the United States. The children’s parents are sending the children alone to avoid immediate expulsion under the CDC Title 42 emergency order if crossing as a family unit. According to a law enforcement source, the parents or other relatives illegally enter the United States afterward to claim the children to avoid deportation once the children are freed by HHS.

[AlAhram] Msehli said the boat was among nine others carrying more than 700 migrants colonists intercepted Sunday by the Libyan coasties off the coast of the North African country
At least five people, including a woman and a child, drowned when a boat carrying at least 45 Europe-bound migrants colonists capsized off Libya, a UN migration official said on Monday. The wreck was the latest disaster in the Mediterranean Sea involving migrants colonists seeking a better life in Europe.
Safa Msehli, a spokeswoman for the International Organization for Migration, said the wreck took place on Sunday. She said fishermen rescued 40 migrants colonists and returned them to the shore.
Msehli said the boat was among nine others carrying more than 700 migrants colonists intercepted Sunday by the Libyan coasties off the coast of the North African country.
The intercepted migrants colonists were taken to overcrowded detention centers, where the UN migration agency fears more threats to their lives and violations of their rights, she said.
There has been a spike in crossings and attempted crossings from Libya in recent weeks, with smugglers taking advantage of the calm sea and warm weather.
Federico Soda, head of IOM in Libya, said he was ``extremely concerned'' about the spike in migrant departure from Libya and ``the continuous loss of life.''
``The situation cannot be ignored, and states must live up to their responsibilities and redeploy search and rescue vessels,'' he tweeted.
Libya has in recent years emerged as the dominant transit point for migrants colonists fleeing war and poverty in Africa and the Middle East. Earlier this month, at least 11 Europe-bound migrants colonists drowned when a rubber dinghy carrying two dozen people capsized off Libya. That followed another tragedy in April where at least 130 migrants colonists were presumed dead, in one of the deadliest maritime tragedies in years along the busy route.
Around 7,000 Europe-bound migrants colonists were intercepted and returned to Libya so far this year, according to the IOM's tally.
Smugglers often pack desperate families into ill-equipped rubber boats that stall and founder along the perilous Central Mediterranean route. Over the last several years, hundreds of thousands of migrants colonists have reached Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... either on their own or after being rescued at sea.
Thousands have drowned along the way. Others were intercepted and returned to Libya to be left at the mercy of gangs or confined in squalid detention centers that lack adequate food and water, according to rights groups.

Seventy-two hours after the attack and the retreat by the troops, the command headquarters of the Operation Lafiya Dole in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital, has not made any effort to rescue the soldiers.

"It's been over 72 hours since the Forward Observation Base in Bulabulin manned by 19 Battalion was attacked and dislodged by Boko Haram.
"One Captain and over 50 soldiers are trapped in that forest, Soldiers are dying of starvation in that bush.
"Some of them returned to Maiduguri, but the majority of them are still trying to find their way back to town but they are tired, hungry and abandoned.
"The painful part is that the heat in Borno state at the moment is so much. Anyone left in the forest might die. To make matters worse, our superiors in Maiduguri are not bothered. They have refused to send help to those out there to rescue them," the source told SaharaReporters.

[JP] 300 rockets have struck southern Israel since yesterday • IDF strikes more than 130 targets throughout the Strip. "Are you ready?"
A number of buildings and homes were hit in Ashkelon and Ashdod amid barrages of rockets on Tuesday afternoon after the IDF struck a number of terrorist targets and killed multiple Gaza terrorists.
So far, two buildings in Ashdod and six buildings in Ashkelon have been hit by rockets, according to Israel Police. One of the buildings hit was a school
Defense Minister Benny Gantz approved the call up of 5,000 reservists on Tuesday as the IDF prepared for a large-scale offensive in the Gaza Strip as rocket attacks against southern Israel continued.
US conservatives continue to use "liberal", shows why they they lost to Totalitarians...
I just woke up from a nap, so my thinking is slow, Unusing Platypus5935. If you would be so kind as to explain what you mean by that, and how it connects to the rocket barrage from Gaza, I’d be grateful.
^ Agreed. They are the enemy plain and simple, not just some ideological group wanting more freedoms than expedient.
We routinely use their appropriated labels of 'liberal', 'progressive' etc to describe them and we accord them an identity they don't deserve. The perception of conservatives becomes of people struggling against freedoms and progress to preserve some bygone era of coercion and class oppression. When it is in fact them, the Left, who aim to make society regress into slavery and penury.
A depot is on fire near a gas complex located close to Ashkelon, Israel after it was hit by a rocket from Gaza according to officials, as seen from Gaza City. Palestinian militants Hamas fired a barrage of rockets at Israel's economic hub Tel Aviv in retaliation for an Israeli strike that destroyed a tower block in Gaza, as the foes traded their heaviest fire in several years.
Now 700+ rockets fired at Israel. Casualty reports continue to come in.
[YNet] - The IDF said on Tuesday that it killed members of a squad on its way to launch rockets at Israel.
The militants were still inside their vehicle when they were targeted by the Israeli military, the IDF said in a statement. "Do you mind if I smoke in your car?" I wonder, how many virgins is this worth?

The Maoist DFLP, which split off from the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), is the third-most important group in the PLO after Fatah and PFLP, suggesting a certain fondness for Marxist intellectual posing among the Palestinians. [IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces says the current round of violence will likely last at least several days as it begins conducting airstrikes on Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip, after dozens of rockets were fired at Israel from the enclave, including at Jerusalem...
The IDF has conducted airstrikes on rocket-launching cells, killing at least three people. The Gaza Health Ministry says that nine people have been killed so far in Israeli airstrikes, including three children. The IDF spokesman says he would not comment officially on the matter, though other Israeli officials have said that the minors were killed as a result of failed rocket launch from the Strip.
Palestinian media reports that one of the people killed in the Israeli strikes was a senior Hamas member, which Zilberman says he cannot confirm.
According to the IDF, a number of terror groups have taken part in the rocket attacks on Israel, but the military ultimately holds the Hamas terror group, the de facto ruler of Gaza, responsible for the violence.
[JPost] The IDF warned Hamas that all options, including a ground operation, were on the table after over 160 rockets were fired towards Jerusalem and southern Israel as thousands of Israelis were parading through downtown to celebrate Jerusalem Day.
Following the rocket fire, the Israel Air Force carried out several strikes in Gaza, killing at least 8 Hamas militants and targeting rocket launchers and two military positions. Palestinian media reported that 20 people had been killed including nine children and another 95 wounded.
Three children were killed in Beit Hanoun but it is unclear if it was due to an Israeli Air Force strike or the failure of a rocket launched from Gaza.
Hamas had threatened Israel earlier in the day that it would launch the rockets due to the ongoing clashes in Jerusalem and shortly after 6 p.m. seven rockets were fired towards the capital.
The IDF said that one was intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defense system. Another struck an empty house in a community near Jerusalem. Dozens of rockets were also fired towards Sderot, Ashkelon and neighboring communities as well.
Another rocket hit a house in Nir Am, in the Sha'ar Hanegev Regional Council, shortly after midnight on Monday night. No injuries were reported.
An anti-tank guided missile also struck a civilian vehicle near Sderot, causing light injuries to the driver who was just several meters from his vehicle. He was transferred to hospital for medical treatment.
Another rocket landed near a residential area in Sderot, causing a fire to break out. Firefighters are currently working to extinguish the flames. No injuries were reported.
g(r)omgoru submitted the same article, as of 12:37 a.m. ET updated to report 250 Gazan rockets and the IDF hitting over 130 targets in an operation now called “Guardians of the Wall.” He commented:
My theory is that these periodic outbursts happen whenever Gazans fill their rocket storage facilities and have to stop production or move the inventory.
Update at 1:45 p.m. ET. New numbers: More than 480 rockets have been fired at Israel, 150+ rockets landed somewhere in Gaza, and 200+ were intercepted... I think. I’m finding the updates in the article a bit confusing.
[Aljazeera] The Pentagon has said a United States Coast Guard ship fired about 30 warning shots after 13 vessels from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Navy (IRGCN) came close to it and other US Navy vessels in the Strait of Hormuz — an account rejected by Tehran.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the warning shots were fired after the Iranian fast boats came as close as 137 metres (450 feet) of six US military vessels, including the USS Monterey, that were escorting the guided-missile submarine Georgia.
