Whew! I am now caught up on Rudaw articles since the last time I posted any from that site.

It most definitely was, Frank G, if quiet.

Fred, in Hoover there are apparently two articles without headlines. When you have a moment, would you delete them, please? Unfortunately, in Poster I can see the untitled things at the top of the list, but I have no way of finding them I when I open Hoover. Even less important, Hoover’s X-delete was not reconnected — but I can insert articles to Poster and delete them there. As long as I have a workaround, I’m content.

Mr. Wife is spending the weekend helping his mother settle into her new house near his sister up north in NY State, my mother is having a small relapse after improving shockingly simce we brought her home in February, and my sister, bless her heart in a southren belle manner, chose these last few days to make me angrier than I’ve ever been in my entire life. It’s been two decades since the only other time she pulled something like this, so apparently we’re both coming to terms with it.

Disgraced Former Gymnastics Doc Larry Nassar Pays Gangsters for Protection with 'Sexual Favors'
[Breitbart] Convicted child molester and former Team USA Gymnastics Doctor Larry Nassar arranged for protection in prison by paying gangsters with cash and “sexual favors,” according to an inmate.

In an interview with the New York Post, Grace Pinson, an inmate who did time with Nassar at a federal penitentiary in Florida, says that around June of 2021, he witnessed Nassar entering a prison cell with Mexican gang members. According to Pinson, the cell had its door shut and windows covered, a sign that the inmates were either doing drugs, having sex, or both.

“It was definitely not for drugs,” Pinson asserted.

Pinson described Nassar as a “scared little church mouse” who never left his housing unit except to visit the chapel.

In the chapel, Pinson conversed with Nassar.

“He wished he didn’t need those guys,” Pinson said of his conversation with Nassar. “In some ways, what they expected of him was worse than the idea of being stabbed and killed.”

The protection arrangement definitely malfunctioned in July of 2023 after Nassar was nearly stabbed to death by another inmate for talking about how he enjoyed ogling female tennis players.

Nassar has been transferred from his original federal penitentiary in Florida to a new federal prison in Pennsylvania.

During his multiple decades as Team USA Gymnastics’ doctor, Nassar sexually abused over 250 girls. After a lengthy trial following a bungled FBI investigation, Nassar was sentenced to multiple hundreds of years in prison.

Atlanta prosecutor is jailed for stealing $15m of Covid funds
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]… and using the cash to buy diamond rings and a Rolls Royce.

The former assistant city attorney of Atlanta, who was also a life advice podcaster, has been jailed for seven years after fraudulently obtaining approximately $15 million in COVID relief loans.

Shelitha Robertson, 62, used the illegally gained funds to splash out on luxuries such as a 10 carat diamond ring, a Rolls Royce and a motorbike.

The former police officer had obtained the money under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP), a federal stimulus program that was set up during the pandemic.

But only weeks before she was imprisoned, Robertson was still gleefully appearing on her daughter's 'Mommy & Me' podcast in which the pair would give their advice on dealing with the world - including advising listeners on how to earn money though hard work and 'integrity'.

But Robertson didn't follow her own advice and decided to make her money through deception, submitting one false loan application after another to the COVID relief scheme claiming she needed the cash to support four businesses she owned.

What she said in the loan documents was extraordinary, claiming she had a workforce of more than 400, meaning she was entitled to millions of dollars in handouts for each of the companies she claimed to run.

The DOJ also said she transferred funds to a co-conspirator, Chandra Norton, and other family members.

The pair had no such qualms about abusing such a scheme, even submitting false tax documents to back up their inflated income statements within each loan application.

A jury convicted Robertson of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and money laundering, with the judge sentencing her to seven years and three months in prison, followed by three years of supervised release.

Robertson will be almost 70 by the time she's released from prison, leaving her influencer daughter Brii, who has over 600,000 Instagram followers, without a podcast partner.

Peskov say the West, in pre-war ecstasy, is beginning censorship in its media
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Moscow, June 9, 2024, 14:06 - IA Regnum. Western countries “in pre-war ecstasy” are beginning to censor their media, Russian Presidential Press Secretary Dmitry Peskov said on June 9.

Rossiya 1 journalist Pavel Zarubin asked Peskov to comment on Vladimir Putin’s meeting with the heads of international news agencies and, in particular, asked whether there was pressure on the visiting journalists from the West. A fragment of the conversation was published on Zarubin’s Telegram channel.

“Their editorial policy, I am convinced of this, is not free in the full sense of the word. Especially in the West, when they themselves lead themselves into a state of preparation for war, war with us, which they talk about directly. They, entering this pre-war ecstasy, accordingly begin to infringe on the interests of the media, transferring the media into a censored state,” the presidential press secretary replied.

This is visible to the naked eye, Peskov emphasized. Materials from the “most respected” media in the US and UK often look so obvious that they were written “in the party committee,” the president’s press secretary said.

Russia nevertheless sees the point in such meetings, Peskov added. Moscow’s goal in such events is to try to convey its position, and in this matter, as in the case of “riding a bicycle,” one cannot stop, this process must be carried out constantly, the presidential press secretary noted.

As reported by IA Regnum, the said meeting of Putin with foreign journalists took place on June 5 on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum. During the event, the President, in particular, stated that Russia has the right to supply its weapons to regions from which sensitive attacks are expected on countries supplying weapons to Ukraine. Russia will not name the regions of possible supplies, Peskov later noted.

In addition, during this meeting, a representative of the Reuters agency asked Putin under what conditions nuclear weapons could be used in Ukraine and how likely such a situation is.

The President responded by saying that it is not worth leading not only to the use of nuclear weapons, but also to threats of such use. Putin also suggested that the interlocutor would hide in her publication that she herself brought him to this topic, and would say that the Russian president was “wavering a nuclear baton.”

For some reason, Western politicians are confident that Russia will not use nuclear weapons, Putin also noted. But if the sovereignty of the country is threatened, the Russian Federation will use all means, including this, the president emphasized.

[PA] Democrat Senator Bob Casey celebrates taxpayer dollars going to LGBT center that provides...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]…children sex-change services and has hosted events on 'bigger d*** energy'

The Mazzoni Center in Philadelphia provides gender reassignment treatment to minors and has sponsored multiple events for transgender youth - and Democrat Senator Bob Casey just secured them a massive allotment of cash.

The senior senator from Pennsylvania secured $400,000 in taxpayer funds for the Mazzoni center in the fiscal year 2024 spending package.

The nonprofit also hosts the annual Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference, which has hosted panels on 'Bigger D*** Energy: Life After Masculinizing,' 'The Ins and Outs of Masturbation Sleeves,' and 'The Adolescent Pathway: Preparing Young People for Gender-Affirming Care.'

'Today, Senator Bob Casey announced with Mazzoni Center leadership a $400K congressional appropriation for building upgrades, including a building generator to protect refrigerated pharmaceuticals and vaccines,' the group posted on social media Thursday.

The center is known to provide puberty blockers and hormone therapy for patients, including kids.

It also provides testing for HIV and other sexually transmitted infections (STI's), counseling and health education.

In addition to providing treatment at the center, the group also connects patients to surgeons who can perform sex-change procedures. In Pennsylvania, these surgeries on minors are legal.

The annual Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference hosted by the group has sparked controversy in the past and in 2017 canceled an events on de-transitioning.

The 'Alternate ways of working with gender dysphoria' and 'Detransition: A panel discussion' were both canceled because, the group wrote at the time, 'when a topic becomes controversial, such as this one has turned on social media, there is a duty to make sure that the debate does not get out of control at the conference itself.'

'This was detracting from our overall mission of the conference, to provide an accessible and respectful environment that centers the experiences of the transgender and gender non-conforming/non-binary (GNC/NB) community,' the post continued.

In March, Casey withdrew his request for a $1 million allocation for another Pennsylvania-based LGTB group - the William Way LGBT Community Center - over its controversial ties to kink and BDSM parties.

'Senator Casey has been a leader and ally in the fight to protect LGBTQ rights in the U.S. Senate and will continue to support the LGBTQ community in the Commonwealth,' a spokesperson for the Democrat said at the time following the request withdrawal.

'He believes that consenting adults have the right to do whatever they want in their free time, but these types of appropriations projects warrant the highest level of scrutiny on behalf of taxpayers.'

Senator Casey withdrew his request for federal funding when new information about the third-party use of the facility emerged.'

Taliban holds mass flogging for 63 people at sport stadium - with offences ranging from 'fleeing...
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] …from home' to 'disrespect'

The Taliban held a horror mass flogging for 63 people at a sport stadium for offences ranging from 'fleeing from home' to 'disrespect'.

The disturbing punishment event was held on Tuesday in Sar-e-Pul, northern Afghanistan and saw 48 men and 15 women lashed between 15 to 39 times.

In addition to the sickening physical abuse, some victims were locally reported to have also received prison sentences lasting between six months and five years for their crimes.

According to Voice of America, the group was the largest known since 2021 to receive public floggings in a Taliban event.

Local media reported that locals shockingly approved of the lashings, with one resident telling Tolo News: 'Young people will learn a lesson from the crimes they committed, and this will result in a decrease in crime and criminal activities'.

It also added that according to Sar-e-Pul officials, the individuals who received the harsh and brutal punishment were arrested by security forces for committing crimes including 'fleeing from home, armed robbery, adultery, sodomy, and disrespect'.

The United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA), which has attempted to maintain relations with the Taliban, condemned the event on Wednesday, along with the United Nations Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights (OHCHR).

'We are deeply disturbed by the widespread, continued use of corporal punishment in Afghanistan,' UN Human Rights spokesperson Jeremy Laurence said in a statement.

The use of a sport stadium to host the chilling event is not an unheard of for the Taliban, after the terrorist organisation convicted a man of murder and allowed the brother of the alleged victim to kill the convicted man before the eyes of a stadium full of spectators in February.

'The man was shot five times with a rifle by the victim's brother, according to an anonymous witness,' Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty (RFE/RL) reported at the time.

A month before, nine men were publicly flogged up to 39 times each by the Taliban in front of a packed football stadium.

The draconian punishments were handed out in the Ahmad Shahi Stadium in Kandahar by the Islamist regime.

Hundreds gathered to watch the brutal sentences being administered, with some even climbing up trees for a good view of the proceedings.

The recent flogging comes just three months after the Taliban announced it will soon start stoning women to death in public.

Addressing Western officials in a voice message broadcast on state TV, Mullah Hibatullah Akhundzada, the radical group's Supreme Leader, called the Western human rights defenders 'representatives of the devil'.

'You say it's a violation of women's rights when we stone them to death. But we will soon implement the punishment for adultery,' he told the West in his harshest comments since taking over Afghanistan in 2021.

'We will flog women in public. We will stone them to death in public,' he announced.

'These are all against your democracy but we will continue doing it.

'We both say we defend human rights – we do it as God's representative and you as the devil's,' he added.

The Taliban, despite initial promises of a more moderate rule, began carrying out severe punishments in public shortly after coming to power.

The punishments are similar to those during their previous rule of Afghanistan in the late 1990s.

The Taliban regained power in August 2021, following the collapse of the internationally supported government and the withdrawal of all US and UK-led Western troops after nearly 20 years of involvement in the Afghan war.

Houthis hit British destroyer HMS Diamond and two other ships
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Aden, Yemen, June 9, 2024, 19:57 - IA Regnum. Yemen's Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement attacked the British destroyer Diamond in the Red Sea and two ships in the Arabian Sea. This was stated by the military representative of the movement, Yahya Saria.

“ The Missile Forces carried out a military operation, striking the British destroyer Diamond in the Red Sea with several ballistic missiles,” the movement’s Telegram channel quoted Saria as saying.

He clarified that the naval forces, missile forces and drones of the Yemeni Armed Forces also conducted two military operations against the Norderney and MSC Tavvishi vessels in the Arabian Sea. The Houthis used several anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as drones, during the attack, Saria said.

As the Houthis explained, they attacked the ships because they violated the ban on entering Israeli ports.

As reported by IA Regnum, on June 9, the Center for Coordination of Maritime Trade Transport of the British Navy reported that in the Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea, 70 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni city of Aden, a fire broke out on a cargo ship after it was hit by a missile. Ambrey, a maritime security company, also said that the strike had hit a civilian cargo ship. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

Before this, UKMTO received notification of an incident involving a British vessel 80 nautical miles (about 150 kilometers) southeast of Aden, Yemen. It was noted that the attack was carried out by unknown persons. As a result of the attack, a fire broke out on board; the fire was quickly extinguished.

The Houthis began attacks on ships associated with Israel and its allies in the fall of 2023 after the escalation of the conflict in the Middle East, in order to thus support the Palestinian Hamas movement. In January 2024, the United States and Great Britain began to launch retaliatory strikes against the positions of the Yemeni movement.

Due to attacks by Yemen's Houthis on commercial ships in the Red Sea, Western cargo carriers have begun to think about using the Northern Sea Route, Foreign Policy reported. Traffic has dropped by almost 60%. Another problem was the cost of insurance for transit through the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, which has risen significantly.

Houthis say they attacked two commercial ships in the Arabian Sea.
Sana, June 9, 2024, 16:21 - IA Regnum. Yemen's Houthis from the Ansar Allah movement carried out drone, ballistic and anti-ship missile attacks on commercial ships Norderney and MSC Tavvishi in the Arabian Sea, the movement's military spokesman Yahya Saria said on June 9.

A fire started on the Norderney vessel as a result of the hit, Saria said in a statement quoted by Al Masirah TV.

“Yemen's navy, unmanned aircraft and missile forces conducted two joint operations against the Norderney and MSC Tavvishi vessels, owned by companies that violated the ban on passage to the ports of occupied Palestine,” the statement said.

As Regnum reported, earlier on June 9, the Center for Coordination of Maritime Trade Transport of the British Navy reported that in the Gulf of Aden in the Arabian Sea, 70 nautical miles southwest of the Yemeni city of Aden, a fire broke out on a cargo ship after it was hit by a missile. Ambrey, a maritime security company, also said that the strike had hit a civilian cargo ship. According to preliminary data, there were no casualties.

In January 2024, the United States and Great Britain began to launch retaliatory strikes against the positions of the Yemeni movement.

Due to attacks by the Yemeni Houthis on commercial ships in the Red Sea, Western cargo carriers began to think about using the Northern Sea Route, Foreign Policy observers previously noted. Traffic in the Red Sea has dropped by almost 60% since October 2023.

Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Evtukhov: The Navy will be replenished with 50 new ships in 2024
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Moscow, June 9, 2024, 13:08 - IA Regnum. By the end of 2024, 50 new ships will join the Russian Navy, said Deputy Head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Viktor Evtukhov. His words are quoted by the Zvezdanews Telegram channel.

According to him, the list will include boats, as well as small missile ships and support vessels. He also noted that the ministry will pay special attention to frigates and corvettes capable of operating in the far sea zone.

Evtukhov recalled that last year the Russian Navy included 32 ships. This year this figure will be exceeded by 18 units.

As Regnum reported, at the beginning of January the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the Russian Navy in 2024 will be replenished with the small missile ship “Burya” and the submarine “Kronstadt”. It was noted that this year the Russian Navy will continue the planned increase in its strength.

It was specified that the Baltic, Pacific and Black Sea fleets will be strengthened by several small missile and patrol ships, as well as sea minesweepers.

On December 25, 2023, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that five frigates, eight corvettes, 13 small missile ships and more than 50 other ships of various classes are currently in various stages of readiness at Russian shipyards. At the flag-raising ceremony on the frigate Admiral Golovko, the small missile ship Naro-Fominsk and the minesweeper Lev Chernavin, which are entering service with the Navy, the president said that Russian shipbuilding has entered a new important stage - serial production of warships of various classes.

In Ukraine, the body of a draft dodger was found in the mountains on the border with Romania
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Kiev, June 9, 2024, 16:28 - IA Regnum. In the Ukrainian Carpathians, not far from the border with Romania, the body of a man who evaded mobilization into the Ukrainian Armed Forces was found, the country’s State Border Service reported on its Telegram channel.

“The body of a man without signs of life was found in the mountains near the border. A local resident reported the terrible discovery on the slope of Mount Pop-Ivan to the Marmaros border patrol this morning,” the report says.

It is noted that the police and employees of the State Emergency Situations Service were called to the place where the man’s body was found.

As Regnum reported, a new law on mobilization has been in force in Ukraine since May 18. It involves, in particular, the abolition of the norm on limited fitness, the reduction of the conscription age from 27 to 25 years and numerous restrictions on the rights of those who evade conscription or do not provide up-to-date information to military registration and enlistment offices.

Ukrainian media reported that on the day the law came into force, the streets of cities in the territory controlled by the Kiev regime were empty. There are also reports of numerous attempts by men of military age to illegally leave the territory of Ukraine. Many of these attempts end in tragedy.

On June 5, it was reported that in Ukraine, among the draft dodgers trying to leave the country illegally, the first people died as a result of mining by Ukrainian border guards on the banks of the Tisza River.

Ukraine Says it Has Destroyed an Advanced Russian Stealth Fighter
[Breitbart] Ukraine on Sunday said its forces hit an ultra-modern Russian warplane stationed on an air base nearly 600 kilometers (370 miles) from the front lines, after its Western allies allowed Kyiv to use their weapons for limited strikes inside Russia.

Kyiv´s main military intelligence service shared satellite photos it said showed the aftermath of the attack. If confirmed, it would mark Ukraine’s first known successful strike on a Su-57 fighter plane, a twin-engine stealth fighter lauded as Moscow’s most advanced military aircraft.

In one photo, black soot marks and small craters can be seen dotting a concrete strip around the parked aircraft. According to the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine´s Ministry of Defense, the strike took place on Saturday at the Akhtubinsk base in southern Russia, some 589 kilometers (366 miles) from the front line.
It wasn´t immediately clear what weapons were used, but the airfield´s distance from Ukraine suggests that it was likely hit by drones.

The strike comes after the United States and Germany recently authorized Ukraine to hit some targets on Russian soil with the long-range weapons they are supplying to Kyiv. Ukraine has already used U.S. weapons to strike inside Russia under newly approved guidance from President Joe Biden that allows American arms to be used for the limited purpose of defending Kharkiv, Ukraine´s second-largest city.

The Ukrainian agency said that the plane, which is capable of carrying stealth missiles across hundreds of kilometers (miles), was among "a countable few" of its type in Moscow’s arsenal. According to reports by Russian agencies, Moscow’s armed forces obtained "more than 10" new Su-57s last year, while 76 are set to be produced by 2028.

Moscow did not immediately comment on the reports. Russia’s Defense Ministry on Saturday claimed its forces downed three Ukrainian drones in the Astrakhan region, home to the Akhtubinsk airstrip.

16 tons of treasures found in the tomb of Chinese Prince Gao near the Terracotta Army
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Beijing, June 9, 2024, 10:59 - IA Regnum. In the mausoleum of the founder of the Qin dynasty and emperor Qin Shi Huang, a 16-ton sarcophagus was discovered with treasures inside. This was reported by the archaeological portal Arkeonews.

Archaeologists note that the sarcophagus at a depth of 16 meters may belong to the son of Shi Huang, Prince Gao. According to the records of the ancient Chinese historian Sima Qian, Gao asked his brother to send himself to his father in the afterlife.

“A massive 16-ton sarcophagus hidden with treasure has been found inside a tomb that may have belonged to the son of China's first emperor. <…> A very rich funeral treasure was discovered in the sarcophagus, consisting of weapons, armor, jade, a pair of gold and silver camels, a set of kitchen utensils and 6 thousand bronze coins. With such a grand burial, the deceased could be one of the sons of Emperor Qin,” the material says.

At the same time, experts admit that this sarcophagus may not belong to Prince Gao, but to one of the high-ranking feudal lords or generals.

Qin Shi Huang was the first emperor of the Qin kingdom. During his reign, he managed to conquer six Chinese kingdoms and create a single centralized empire. Under him, the construction of the Great Wall of China began. In addition, the emperor is famous for building a life-size terracotta army consisting of foot soldiers, horses, chariots and all the other equipment needed for battle.

As Regnum reported, at the end of May, scientist Ross Fellows came to the conclusion that radiation poisoning from natural elements containing uranium and toxic waste could have caused the death of researchers of Tutankhamun’s tomb, known as the “curse of the pharaoh.” It is believed that more than 20 people who opened the pharaoh's tomb in 1922 died prematurely due to the "curse" that ancient inscriptions warned about. Among them were the archaeologist Howard Carter, who was the first to enter the tomb, Lord Carnarvon, Egyptologist Arthur Weigall and others.

Fellows noted that in the tomb of Osiris at Giza, intense radioactivity was associated with two stone chests. The basalt tanks were a point source of radiation, while in the surrounding limestone rock the level of radon, an intermediate product of the decay of uranium, was normal.

Thousands of pots containing up to 200 tons of unknown substances were found under one of the pyramids at Saqqara in the 1960s. Presumably, they were buried along with the mummies. Unusually high and localized levels of radon were recorded in the tomb ruins, indicating an artificial source of radiation.

Right-Wing Tsunami: France "Stunned" After Macron Announces Snap Elections Following Crushing Defeat In European Parliament Vote
[ZERO] Following a historic loss to Marine Le Pen’s right-wing party in European elections on Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron said he is dissolving the French parliament.

Macron said France will hold new elections on June 30 and July 7, a high-stakes maneuver that the WSJ said "stunned" the nation after projections based on early ballot counts came in for Sunday’s elections for the European Parliament. The projections showed National Rally garnering around 31% of the vote, twice the support for Macron’s Renew Party.

United States announces the absence of solutions to strengthen nuclear deterrence of the Russian Federation
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Washington, June 9, 2024, 17:46 - IA Regnum. The United States has not yet made concrete decisions to strengthen nuclear deterrence against Russia, China and the DPRK, White House National Security Assistant Jake Sullivan said on CBS.

According to him, Washington is concerned about the alleged “cooperation” in the nuclear sphere between Russia, China and the DPRK.

“We are focused on this. We are monitoring this closely and will consult with allies and partners on how best to ensure a safe, secure, and confident U.S. nuclear deterrent. We haven’t made any decisions yet,” he said.

As Regnum reported, on June 7, in his speech at the plenary meeting of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Russia, unlike Western countries, has never rattled nuclear weapons. The president also urged not to mention the topic of nuclear weapons in vain. Russia has no need to use nuclear weapons, the head of state said.

On the issue of the use of nuclear weapons, Russia is guided by the corresponding doctrine, and since this doctrine is a “living instrument,” changes can be made to it if necessary, Putin also said.

US President Joseph Biden some time ago signed new instructions on the conditions for the use of nuclear weapons, Biden's assistant Pranay Vaddi said on June 7. The guidelines are meant to take into account the "realities of the new nuclear era," China's growing nuclear arsenal and the need to "contain" Russia, China and North Korea simultaneously, Waddy said. It is possible that the US nuclear arsenal will be increased, the Biden aide also said.
