's Far North region, according to local and security sources.
The attack took place in the Ashigashia locality.
"They came early on Tuesday morning with guns and shot the civilians. The gunnies also kidnapped one person," the source told Xinhua.
The region has witnessed renewed attacks on civilians, recording more than 10 incidents in the last two weeks, according to security reports. Last week, local officials announced that additional troops would be deployed to the remote areas of the region to secure people and property.
Boko Haram has been operating in Cameroon's Far North region since 2014.
