#2 And now, Israel have to arrange something nice for South Africa. Especially for the Venda.

#3 Here's a cold hard truth: The ICJ is useless and it's not a war crime if you win. Had we lost WWII, the Japs and Germans would have hanged a lot of our leadership over the firebombing of Dresden and Tokyo alone. But we won, and we hanged Nazis and avoided the hangings ourselves. The concept of war crimes doesn't make sense. Payback, OTOH, is what rules the day.

What a stupid PR move.

Seriously, does anyone really expect a genocidal agenda based terrorist group to abide by a court order?????

Will the Int Court also hold them in contempt and order their arrest and they fail to obey? 🤔

#5 It's not such a stupid move. The Court will convene again in one month, and the fact that Hamas won't have released all of the hostages will make it impossible for the judges to order Israel to stop (which it won't do anyway).

Please note: This is NOT the International Criminal Court, but the International Court of Justice.

The International Criminal Court is an independent organisation and is not a part of the United Nations. However, they do work alongside each other and the United Nations Security Council can refer to situations involving international crimes to the ICC.

Meanwhile, the International Court of Justice is an integral part of the United Nations and acts as its primary judicial branch. In fact, the United Nations Security Council enforces the rulings and judgements passed by this court.

#7 Absolutely meaningless, but not laughingly so. If those poor hostages were still among us, they would have been produced before now.

I hope I am wrong.

#9 Yes, they were smart enough to craft themselves a fig leaf with the hostage release order. They can now shrug their shoulders and say "we tried."
