Turkish police detain 24 Afghan refugees
|
[KhaamaPress] The Ottoman Turkish government has reported that 24 Afghan refugees were arrested by the police upon entering the country as part of ongoing measures against Afghan refugees.
Ottoman Turkish media reported on Saturday, January 4th, that 24 individuals from Afghanistan who intended to enter The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

were detained by Ottoman Turkish police in Agri.
According to reports, these individuals were detained by the Ottoman Turkish police at the exact moment they were trying to enter Turkey using a motor vehicle from the Iran-Turkey border.
Ottoman Turkish media reports also mention that among the detainees, two individuals were arrested by the Ottoman Turkish police on charges of human trafficking.

Earlier, Ottoman Turkish media, citing police sources, had announced that approximately 85 undocumented refugees were detained by Ottoman Turkish police, out of which 82 were Afghan citizens.
The authorities of the Ottoman Turkish police added that this group of migrants colonists was seized from inside a freight truck, and the driver was identified as an Iranian citizen.
This comes at a time when Turkey is a transit route for refugees heading to Greece and Europe.
