US does not intend to stop UAV flights over the Black Sea

The head of the Pentagon announced his intention to continue launching drones over the Black Sea
[REGNUM] The United States did not take the incident with the fall of an American drone into the Black Sea as a reason to stop flying in this territory. On March 28, United States Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin, in his speech to the country's Congress, refused to answer the question of a possible adjustment of routes after the state of emergency and announced the continuation of flights on "necessary routes.".
"We will fly routes that we think are necessary to collect intelligence information," Austin emphasized.
He refused to discuss information about the audit carried out by the US military on operations in the Crimean region, and suggested that the conversation on this issue be postponed to a closed session of the US Parliament. Austin also did not respond to the question of whether the flights of American drones continued in the area where the drone had previously crashed after encountering a Russian SU-27 aircraft.
As REGNUM reported , on March 14, an MQ-9 drone sank in the Black Sea after contact with a Su-27 fighter. The UAV flew towards Crimea with transponders turned off. After that, in Russia, the United States recalled the airspace boundaries temporarily established in connection with the special operation.

US drones forced to keep distance from Crimea after MQ-9 incident
[REGNUM] CNN: U.S. drone incident makes it harder for U.S. to get intelligence off Crimean coast
American reconnaissance vehicles are forced not to approach Crimea closer than 75 kilometers after a drone fell into the Black Sea. This negatively affects the quality of the data received by the United States, CNN reported.
Satellites, which are also trying to monitor what is happening in the Crimea, cannot compensate for the lack of information received from drones, the publication also noted.
The United States Department of Defense is now forced to ensure that drones do not fly too close to Crimea. The "appetite" of the Pentagon to fly again on previously used routes in the Black Sea remains unsatisfied, the article notes.
As REGNUM reported , US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on March 28 refused to answer a question about a possible adjustment of routes after the state of emergency and announced the continuation of flights along “necessary routes”.
