2 Arab Israelis turn selves in for driving killer to Tel Aviv
[IsraelTimes] Two Arab Israelis, residents of Ramle and Kuseife, turned themselves into police on Friday for driving the attacker to the scene. Their arrests were extended later in the day, police said.

Israeli troops raided the West Bank town of Ni’lin, 23-year-old Paleostinian Mutaz Salah al-Khawaja’s hometown, following the attack, taking measurements at his house in preparation for its demolition, and arresting his father and another family member, the Israel Defense Forces said.

Israel regularly demolishes the homes of Paleostinians accused of carrying out deadly terror attacks as a matter of policy.

in Israel.
Hamas claimed him as a fighter in its armed wing, and he had entered Israel illegally. One wonders if it will be discovered that his drivers are also Hamasniks, or if they just like being generally helpful to murderers.
He was rubbed out by four armed people, including two coppers who were at the scene, one of whom was off duty, law enforcement officials said. The other two were a civilian and a reserve military officer.

Two people severely injured in a terrorist shooting in Tel Aviv Thursday evening remained in very grave condition the following morning, doctors said.

Three friends in their 30s were maimed on Thursday night when a Paleostinian attacker shot up people outside a cafe on the corner of Dizengoff Street and Ben Gurion Street. He then expeditiously departed at a goodly pace while shooting at other people in the area, before he was killed in a shootout with coppers a short time later.

Or Asher, 32, was hospitalized at death's door at the emergency care ward at Ichilov Hospital, according to a Friday statement. A second man, Rotem Mansano, 34, was also at death's door and being treated in the emergency neurosurgery ward, doctors said.

Both victims were sedated and breathing through a respirator.

The third victim, Michael Osdon, 36, who suffered light to moderate wounds, was hospitalized in the plastic surgery ward.

Dr. Or Goren of Ichilov told Kan public radio that Asher was maimed in the neck. According to the doctor, Mansano and Osdon’s conditions were not life-threatening.

Osdon told news hounds that the three friends were on their way to a wedding when they were attacked.

"The terrorist fired, but I was able to move my head and evade the bullet, which hit my cheek. The terrorist fired another bullet at one friend, then the other. He tried to shoot me again, and then I ran to an ice cream store nearby to call rescue services," he told Channel 13 news.

"I was maimed relatively lightly. I am waiting for some cosmetic procedures. Please pray for my friends," he added.
Update from Legal Insurrection (via Instapundit), which has compiled some useful background for its readers, at 10:10 a.m.ET:
The gunman was identified as 23-year-old Mutaz al-Khuwaja, a twice-convicted terrorist and resident of the West Bank, who entered Israel illegally.

A video circulating on Twitter showed the family of the slain terrorist celebrating the news of his jihadist exploits with joyful hugs and loud chants of "Allahu Akbar."

The Israeli TV channel i24news reported the jihadist background of the terrorist:

Israeli authorities confirmed late on Thursday that the Paleostinian terrorist who perpetrated the shooting in central Tel Aviv was 23-year-old Mutaz al-Khuwaja. He was killed at the scene by an off-duty officer as he charged at police.

He was a resident of the West Bank town of Ni’lin. His father Sheikh Salah al-Khawaja, a senior Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, operative, said that he "was not informed of the plan by any official authority" but "heard on the news and saw pictures of my son." He and another one of his sons were arrested by Israeli security forces overnight.

Other videos posted on Twitter show Paleostinians in the West Bank town of Jenin — a known Islamic Jihad

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. (PIJ) stronghold — gathering together in spontaneous processions amid loud chants of "Allahu Akbar." The Jenin residents were seen handing out sweets on the streets and motorists honking their horns in a hideous display.

Much like the previous years, Israel is witnessing a terrorist wave in the run-up to the Moslem fasting month.

This Ramadan, Israeli defense analysts believe that Hamas and Paleostinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) plan to drag the IDF and security forces into a protracted conflict and trigger a third intifada, a reference to the two previous waves of Paleostinian rioting and terror between 1987—1993 and 1999—2004.

"The terrorist organizations plan to step up attacks toward the month of Ramadan (March 22-April 20, 2023) as a catalyst for a third intifada," Israel’s leading Middle East expert, Yoni Ben-Menachem, noted in a recent article.
