Tribal sources said that violent mostly peaceful festivities broke out between the Security Belt militias affiliated with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council (STC) and al-Qaeda elements, on the outskirts of al-Mahfad district.
The sources pointed out that the festivities left maimed from both sides, noting that the confrontations are still continuing until the moment, in south of al-Mahfad, along the areas adjacent to the Ahwar district.
For days, violent mostly peaceful festivities have been taking place between the two sides in al-Mahfad district, coinciding with a new spread of terrorist organization groups.
The confrontations come in the context of a new escalation in in the province, as mutual mobilizations between Emirati factions on the one hand, and al-Qaeda and Islah on the other.
