Recent Clashes Along Durand Line Resulted in Casualties

[TOLONEWS] One Islamic Emirate forces member and one civilian were killed and 14 civilians were maimed in festivities that occurred along the Durand Line in the Dand-e-Patan district of southeastern Paktia province, a source within the Ministry of Defense told TOLOnews.

The videos received by TOLOnews show the deputy defense minister, Mullah Mohammad Fazal Akhund, arriving in Dand-e-Patan to assess the situation.

The source said that the deputy minister appointed a delegtion comprised of tribal elders to negotiate with the Pak side—and that the festivities ended after talks with the Pak side.

The source said that there have been casualties on the Pakistain side.

Dawn, a Pak newspaper, said that seven people, including two children, were maimed by shelling from Afghanistan.

The officials of the Islamic Emirate have yet to comment on the matter, but the Pak media, citing Pakistain officials, said that the festivities had ended after talks with the Islamic Emirate.
