Three terrorists dead in firefight with Counter Terrorism Unit
|
[JPost] The Shin Bet said that terrorists killed on Friday night had committed terror attacks in the past and planned more in the near future.
According to the Shin Bet, the terrorists were responsible for a terror attack in Tul Kerem
...alternative spelling Tulkarem... | and were planning further attacks in the near future. They were not affiliated with any particular terrorist organizations, but the Shin Bet called them "ticking time-bombs".
Security forces were monitoring the cell for hours on Friday and eventually, began a car chase after the terrorists' car when they opened fire at the forces who responded with fire and killed them.
Various weapons were found in their car including guns and grenades.
Three big terror attacks in the last week left 11 people dead. As a result, security forces have been making arrests in places like Jenin and have been faced with much resistence.
The three were later identified as belonging to the armed wing of the Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ), which vowed after the incident to continue fighting Israel "in the name of the Palestinian people," Ynet reported.
Four soldiers were injured in the fight. Two of them were lightly injured, one was moderately injured with wounds to his lower body, and the fourth was severely injured and was taken to the hospital where he underwent surgery and is in stable condition, according to Dr. Hani Bacchus, head of the Trauma Unit at Rambam Medical Center in Haifa.
Friday reports said Israeli security officials have concrete warnings of imminent terror attacks and have foiled a number of other planned attacks in recent days.
The Kan public broadcaster said Friday that Defense Minister Benny Gantz and IDF chief Aviv Kohavi ordered the military to prepare for a monthlong escalation.
Extra troops are expected to remain in the field, and Kohavi has instructed the IDF to step up its intelligence collection in Syria, Sinai and on Paleostinians in Lebanon Hezbollahstan
...In 2020 Hezbollah blew up a considerable portion of Beirut and many of its inhabitants when its ammonium nitrate facility exploded. They blamed it on... somebody else. It wasn't them though. Trust them on that. And it ain't never coming to trial...
Also Friday, Paleostinian Authority health officials said a 29-year-old Paleostinian man was killed by live Israeli fire during festivities with soldiers in the West Bank city of Hebron.
The IDF confirmed that troops opened fire and hit a man in Hebron, saying that he "threw a Molotov cocktail at troops, endangering their lives."
Palestinian Authority health officials say a 29-year-old Palestinian man was killed by live Israeli fire during clashes with soldiers in the West Bank city of Hebron. Palestinian media identify the man as Ahmad al-Atrash. Al-Atrash formerly served prison time in Israeli jails for security offenses, Palestinian media report.
