Children wounded by opposition faction firing at school in Afrin


On Sunday evening, ten children were maimed of varying degrees, as a result of direct shooting at a school in the village of Mirkan in the countryside of Afrin, north of Aleppo.

"Ottoman Turkish-backed al-Hamza faction members opened fire with automatic weapons directly at the Mirkan school in the countryside of Maabatli district, causing the injury of ten children with varying injuries. The injured were taken to the hospital," a local source told North Press.

"The reason behind the attack on the school was to arrest a Kurdish teacher from the village of Rota in the same district, because he had punished one of the sons of the faction members," the source added.

"A girl, who was maimed, was transported to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Since March 2018, the city of Afrin and its environs have been controlled by Turkey and Ottoman Turkish-backed opposition factions.

The region since then, has witnessed a state of security chaos and the increase in cases of kidnapping and systematic arrest of the residents of Afrin.
