SDF members lost lives, injured in government forces’ attack in Tel-Tamr

QAMISHLI, Syria (North Press) – “The government forces launched a provocative attack on a unit of our forces, and as a result two members were martyred in the village of Kozaliya, in the countryside of Tel-Tamr, north of Hasakah, the Tel-Tamr Military Council of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), said on Tuesday evening.

Following the Turkish invasion of the areas of Sere Kaniye (Ras al-Ain) and Tel-Abyad, the government forces deployed in the SDF-held areas, on the lines of contact with the Turkish-backed opposition factions.

“Our forces responded to the provocative attack, and as a result two of our fighters were martyred and another one was wounded, while two soldiers of the government forces were killed, and two others were wounded,” the council said in a statement on SDF website.

A lieutenant of the government was killed, was an officer with the rank of major was wounded, an informed source told North Press.

Activists on social media circulated a picture of a fighter in the Tel-Tamr Military Council, who had he participated in many battles, including battles against ISIS, lost his life in the government forces’ attack.

“We are investigating this provocative attack, and accordingly, we will take the necessary action,” the council said.
