- Ten of the bodies were wrapped in blankets and left in the city streets and six others were found 'suspended' in a nearby warehouse
- State prosecutor Francisco Murillo says the bodies were discovered in the Central Mexican state of Zacatecas
- Authorities have already arrested two people who had been caught transporting a separate corpse a day beforehand
- Homicides in the region continue to increase; as of last year, the state of Zacatecas alone recorded 1,050 murders in 2021, roughly 200 more than 2020
