IDF soldier moderately hurt in suspected West Bank ramming attack
[IsraelTimes] 19-year-old treated near Halamish settlement for wound to his legs, reportedly transported to Jerusalem hospital in same helicopter as suspected attacker

An Israeli soldier was moderately maimed Tuesday in what the military said was a suspected ramming attack near the West Bank settlement of Halamish, outside of Ramallah.

The Magen David Adom ambulance service said paramedics treated the 19-year-old at the scene for an injury to his legs. He was transported by helicopter to Hadassah Ein Kerem Medical Center in Jerusalem.

A hospital spokesperson said the soldier, whose name has not been released for publication, was in moderate condition, but stable and awake.

The army said the driver "arrived at the scene in a vehicle and accelerated toward Israel Defense Forces soldiers who were protecting the road. The terrorist hit one of the soldiers who was injured in his leg and evacuated by military helicopter for medical treatment at a hospital."

The IDF said the driver had been captured and would be questioned.

Hadassah Medical Center said the alleged attacker had been brought to the hospital with extensive bruising and cognitive impairment. No condition was listed for him, but media reports described him as moderately injured from the force of the crash.
and a righteous beating
Paleostinian media identified him as Mohammad Nazmi Yasin, a resident of Nabi Saleh, near Ramallah.

First responders indicated that the alleged attacker had been evacuated in the same helicopter as the soldier after the attack near Halamish, a settlement also known as Neve Tzuf.

The suspected attack came amid a recent rise in violence by Paleostinians against Israeli civilians and soldiers in the West Bank and Jerusalem, including a deadly shooting attack last month outside the illegal Homesh outpost, as well as an increase in violence by Israeli settlers against Paleostinians.

The IDF has deployed additional soldiers to the West Bank in an effort to prevent further violence.
