group fell on an army base in the Arezoo area of the third district of Ghazni city. Local sources in Ghazni province says that Taliban fighters overran a military outpost in PD3 Arezoo area of Ghazni city.
Nasir Ahmad Faqiri, head of the Ghazni provincial council told the media that the incident happened following heavy festivities between the warring parties. Faqiri said, that the number of casualties caused by this incident are not clear yet. The provincial council chief reported that a number of defense forces have been killed, but did not further give details on the casualties.
Meanwhile another check point also fell into Taliban hands wherein two soldiers were reported killed in the same area. According to Faqiri, one government checkpoint held their position and it is also under serious threats.
Ministry of Defense three days ago stated that fresh military personnel led by a General were deployed in the region.
