attack on a security outpost in the eastern province of Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
on Monday night, a source said on Tuesday.
The attack took place in the Ghazi Baba area in Sorkh Rod district of Nangarhar, the source said.
Local officials have not commented on the incident.
Taliban has grabbed credit for the attack.
The incident comes amidst a sharp increase in violence in the country ahead of a key conference in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

Figures by security officials show that at least 26 members of Afghan forces were killed and 30 more, including four civilians, were maimed in separate security incidents in six provinces in the last 24 hours.
