French Muslim Attacked After Posting Christmas Dinner Photo Online

[Breitbart] A 20-year-old Muslim was subjected to an assault from an acquaintance and several others after he posted pictures of a Christmas dinner on social media and was called a “dirty son of a white man”.
The victim, a resident of the city of Belfort, is also the son of a local police officer and filed a complaint against the individual who made the threats, that are thought to have been motivated by anger at seeing a Muslim celebrating the Christian holiday.
“Dirty son of a white man, son of a snake, son of policemen… I’m going to show you what a real rebeu is,” the message said, newspaper Le Figaro reports.
The term rebeu or beur is French slang denoting a person from a North African migration background who was born in France, and is sometimes used as a pejorative.
After receiving the threat, the victim made arrangements to meet with the acquaintance but was ambushed by a group of five individuals who beat the 20-year-old and threatened him not to complain to the police.
“Justice has opened an investigation. No place for separatism in our country, no place for racism wherever it comes from,” French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin commented on Twitter.
According to an Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe (OIDACE) report released in July of this year, anti-Christian attacks in France have risen by 285 per cent from 2008 to 2019.
Macron Gave French Muslims Two Weeks to Renounce Political Islam, But Little Progress Made Six Weeks On

[Breitbart] Muslim groups were given two weeks to sign on to a “Republican values charter” by French President Macron after a series of terror attacks, but six weeks later the groups have yet to agree on and finalise a signed document.
The charter called on Muslim groups to rejected political Islam and reject anti-Semitism, homophobia and other issues frequently observed among those who subscribe to ultra-conservative and radical ideologies of Islam.
The charter refers to political Islam as “the political and/or ideological currents commonly referred to as Wahhabism; Salafism; the doctrine of the Muslim Brotherhood; and more generally any local movement, transnational or international that aims to use Islam to establish a political doctrine,” Le Journal du Dimanche reports.
Three Muslim groups rejected this definition of political Islam, however. One of these, Musulmans de France, is said to have close ties to the radical Muslim Brotherhood.
Another draft of the charter was created by the Turkish-linked Millî Görüş, one of the largest Islamic groups in Europe, which operates in several countries within the European Union.
The first draft was also leaked to the French media and led Franco-Egyptian Muslim activist Marwan Muhammad to call on Muslim groups to reject the charter saying on Twitter, “I invite all mosques, associations and imams to whom there is still a minimum of dignity not to sign this charter, which is nothing less than an act of alienation.”
Mr Muhammed became the executive director of the Collective Against Islamophobia in France (CCIF) in 2016. Following the beheading of teacher Samuel Paty by a radical Islamist Chechen refugee in October, Presiden Macron ordered the dissolution of the CCIF along with several other Islamist-linked groups.
The CCIF executive director has also been accused of having ties to Islamists himself, including the Muslim Brotherhood.
Other issues have caused conflict with the groups including a debate over apostasy or individuals leaving Islam, which according to the religion is a crime, with some Muslim-majority states such as Iran making leaving Islam punishable by death.

[Breitbart] A total of 46 per cent of those in ICUs in Sweden are from migrant backgrounds according to a report. Given that Sweden’s foreign-born population is around one-fifth of the total number of residents of the country, the figures suggest that migrants are serious over-represented in coronavirus statistics.
According to a report from Swedish newspaper Expressen, migrants also account for nearly half of those who have died of the Wuhan coronavirus under the age of 65, with native Swedes making up the majority of those over 65 who have fell victim to the disease.
The paper notes several reasons that migrants have been disproportionately affected by the disease such as socio-economic factors as migrants have a much higher unemployment rate than native Swedes, and the paper also lists overcrowding and larger average household sizes. Nevertheless, migrants are much younger, than average, than the broad Swedish population.
After Migrant Camp Burns Down, Hundreds Stuck Out in Balkan Snows

[Breitbart] Hundreds of migrants on Saturday were stranded in a burnt-out squalid tent camp in Bosnia as heavy snow fell in the country and temperatures suddenly dropped amid a wintry spell of bad weather.
Migrants at the Lipa camp in northwest Bosnia wrapped themselves in blankets and sleeping bags to protect against biting winds in the region, which borders European Union member Croatia.
A fire earlier this week destroyed much of the camp near the town of Bihac that already was harshly criticized by international officials and aid groups as inadequate for housing refugees and migrants.
Authorities have failed to find new accommodation for the migrants at Lipa, leaving around 1,000 people stuck in the cold, with no facilities or heating and on meager food parcels provided by aid groups.
Bosnia has become a bottleneck for thousands of migrants hoping to reach Western Europe. Most are stuck in Bosnia´s northwestern Krajina region as other areas in the ethnically divided nation have refused to accept them.
To get to Croatia, migrants often use illegal routes over a mountainous area along the border. Many have complained of violence and pushbacks by the Croatian police.
Sweden: Asylum Seeker Interpreter Told Migrant Not To ‘Smear Islam’

[Breitbart] Interpreters in Sweden for asylum seekers and other migrants have been accused of major misconduct with one interpreter telling an asylum seeker not to “smear Islam.”
Interpreters in Sweden fall into two categories, those with official government authorization and those without, but that authorisation can be stripped in cases of abuse or misconduct as faulty interpretations can greatly affect asylum claims, trials, and other cases.
According to a report from Swedish television broadcaster SVT, there are high standards to strip the authorization of an interpreter and those that have had their authorization stripped were accused of serious misconduct such as engaging in multiple scams. In one case uncovered by the broadaster, a translator is said to have told off the migrant he was supposed to be translating for after the individual had spoke critically of Islam.
The broadcaster notes that as many as four out of five complaints made against interpreters are usually ignored totally and written off, while those who have their authorization removed are still able to work as interpreters. Some unauthorised interpreters have even received jobs from the Swedish state.
After reviewing cases in which interpreters had been reported for misconduct, the broadcaster found one case in which an interpreter was accused of engaging in 47 fraud scams, another where an interpreter ruined a trial of a person accused of murdering a child, causing a mistrial, and a case of an interpreter linked to an anti-semitic radical Islamist group.
A lack of interpreters following the height of the 2015 migrant crisis may have led to police in the city of Helsingborg having to release a teen who was suspected of murdering another teen because they were unable to find an interpreter in 2017.
While the bar is high for removing authorisation of most interpreters, that was not the case for one interpreter in 2016 who was suspended for criticising mass migration and claiming that Arab migrants lied in order to get asylum in the country.
