Qai Rasekh tweeted, that a convoy of security forces with more than 70 tanks has been stuck in the Ismail Khel area of Jalriz district since 9 p.m. Sunday night.
The politician added that the situation of the forces trapped in the Taliban ambush was reported to be serious.
Jalriz district, which is located on highway number two of Maidan Wardak province, has always been one of the most unsafe routes for travelers in the central regions.
Previously, Dozens of passengers have been killed or beheaded by the snuffies on this highway.
In a recent incident in Jalriz district, a passenger van was hit by a roadside mine, killing nine people and injuring eight others.
