were killed and further 14 maimed in a battle with Afghan National Defense and Security Forces in Qaisar district of Faryab province Saturday night, the Ministry of Defense said in a statement.
Security officials seized four IED after defusing the explosive during the operation.
"8 Taliban were killed and 14 others were maimed in reciprocal attacks of ANDSF in Qaisar district of Faryab Prov. last night," said the MoD in a tweet. "4 IEDs were discovered and defused by #ANA during the operations."

"10 Taliban were killed in an airstrike in Boshran area of Helmand provincial center, last night," said MoD in a tweet. "Also, #ANA discovered and defused 11 IEDs which were placed by Taliban on public roads at the outskirts of Lashkargah city."

In Balkh, at least 3 Taliban were killed and 4 others were maimed. "These Taliban were planning to attack #ANDSF positions when were targeted by AAF," according to the statement.
