BBC Arabic spoke with a Syrian fighter in #Turkey's SNA who has been sent to #Azerbaijan. The deployment in-country apparently began on Sept. 23. Initially pleased with the relatively high wages, many SNAers are now distressed as the death toll mounts. https://t.co/f7TCUw76gX
I'm pretty sure those are Armenians in the truck. The plate on the tailgate is in Armenian script, and I think the uniforms are Armenian. Turkey has air superiority, which is a bad thing.
“There hasn’t been one Azerbaijani or one Turk with us when we are fighting. So many of us want to return to Syria, but they pulled their weapons on us and forced us to stay and keep fighting.”
So weird Azerbaijan is going badly for SNA mercenaries after Libya went so well. https://t.co/58AQ5Rr2Yw
TFSA in Atareb says Hamza Division is "demanding" their fighters be returned from Azerbaijan.
And TFSA in Azerbaijan says their men have been torn to pieces, are stuck under rubble, and that going was maybe a bad idea: pic.twitter.com/jpetm9Pk3D
CONFIRMED - by Guardian colleague Hussein - presence of Syrians in Azerbaijan fighting. Two already identified as killed by family members and reports of up to 20 dead. They left Syria on 22nd September https://t.co/3OXLImV5Rz
#Syria: evidence of involvement of Turkisk-backed #SNA fighters in Azerbaijan growing every day. This fighter, Qassem Al-Jazmur from #DeirEzzor, died in Armenian bombardment. Multiple casualties of Rebel fighters already documented on this new front. pic.twitter.com/WHQfK7w7MA
