, including two leaders, were killed in festivities with security forces in central Ghazni province, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) said in a statement on Thursday.

The festivities started after the Taliban attacked security checkpoints in Khawja Omaeri district, the statement said, adding: "Fortunately, the Taliban attack has been pushed back by commando forces."

The Taliban has not yet commented on the attack.
