Chris Cuomo blasts Trump for saying 'Chinese virus': 'It could have come from anywhere'

"Calling it the Chinese virus or the Wuhan virus or the Kung Flu. Listen, you may think it's clever, but it's hurting," Cuomo said on his nightly show on Wednesday. "The idea, ’Well, it did come from China.’ Then why doesn't Fauci and other top health officials, why don’t they call it that? You know why? Because it could have come from anywhere."
Well, that's not quite so, Fredo. They don't call it that because they call it coronavirus or COVID-19.
The virus, which has sparked a global pandemic, is believed to have originated in an animal market in Wuhan, China.

Trump has said he uses the phrase "Chinese virus" for accuracy purposes. Critics say Trump is being racist or is scapegoating.
But then, they always say that, even if he's just asking for another piece of chicken.
The Chinese government blasted as prejudice Trump's association of their country with the outbreak of the virus.

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Director Robert Redfield has said it is wrong to use the term "Chinese virus."

"It's not about where it started," Cuomo said. "All right? This doesn't help. Calling it a ’foreign virus.’ We're all in the fight together. Stop it."
Yeah, we never call diseases by geographical names. Forget about the Spanish Flu, or the Hong Kong Flu, or whatever.

#2 The chicom government actively protected the virus when it was still vulnerable and could have been extinguished easily.

Without the chicom government the Chinese virus could never have made the transition from a biological oddity to a pandemic pathogen.

The chicoms lied and oppressed and censored, and people died.

No, zero COVID-19 case seems to have come from China. There was a Hong Cong Flu. Fiji measles plague. Spanish flu (originated in China), Russian flu,...

It is good to pinpoint the suspected origins of a pandemic from an epidemiological point. If one knows the origins, then one can look at cultural practices and habits that might have led to the spread and vector patterns of the disease. Knowing the origins can prevent further disease spread.

For example, the recent epidemic of the Ebola virus seems to have originated in West Africa. The spread of the disease appears to be related to certain practices by people at funerals and how the deaths were handled.

Immigration and travel patterns are important to understanding and controlling the spread of diseases. Advocating immigration control to halt diseases does not make a person xenophobic.

#11 Why of course, Fredo, it COULD have come from any where. Any where they have unsanitary wet markets down the block from Bio warfare labs, with significant numbers of the population mass spitting at doorways and entrances, along with the, um, challenging pollution.
