I'll bite. Why do crowds of third-worlders squat scooping gasoline while the angel of death flaps overhead, cackling and rubbing sparks from his hands? Need and nature. Of course he's guilty as hell (the phone call) or so incredibly unlucky ("I must speak securely with Fearless Leader. Gimme dat phone, O frail, harmless, looting passerby!") that it would be impious not to pile on.
