Takhar’s Darqad Cleared of Insurgents

[ToloNews] The district was cleared of Lions of Islam early Friday morning after a nearly two-week operation, MoD said.
Darqad district of northern Takhar province has been cleared of bad boys, the Ministry of Defence announced in a statement on Friday.
The operation was launched on October 14 to retake the district, the statement said, adding that "early today the district was completely cleared of terrorists."

were killed and dozens of others were maimed during the operation, and the bodies of the Lions of Islam remained on the ground after the clash," the statement read.
The statement did not provide details about casualties of security forces.
The Taliban have not commented on the operation.
The security forces maimed dozens more.
The security forces also confiscated some vehicles during the operations, the Ministry of Defense added.
This comes as the Afghan forces have recaptured several districts in the northern and North-eastern parts of the country during the recent weeks and months.
