Turkish jets neutralize 7 PKK militants in northern Iraq

(IraqiNews.com) – Turkish fighter jets “neutralized” seven PKK militants in airstrikes on terrorist elements in northern Iraq, according to an official statement Sunday.
The airstrikes in Haftanin region were conducted in coordination with Turkey’s ongoing counter-terror operations in northern Iraq, Anadolu Agency quoted the National Defense Ministry as saying in a press statement.
Turkish authorities often use the word “neutralized” to imply the militiamen in question surrendered or were killed or captured.
The counter-terrorism operations were supported by the Turkish Armed Forces, police, gendarmerie, and the National Intelligence service (MIT).
Two Turkish soldiers killed in bomb attack in northern Iraq

(IraqiNews.com) – Two Turkish soldiers were killed on Monday in northern Iraq in an attack blamed on Kurdish militants, the defense ministry said.
The soldiers died after an improvised explosive device (IED) “placed by PKK separatist terrorists exploded as a supply convoy was passing,” Al Arabiya TV channel quoted the ministry as saying.
