Taliban militants flog a young couple on charges of eloping

[KhaamaPress] The Talibs flogged a young couple on charges of eloping in northern Faryab province of Afghanistan.
Officials in Faryab Police Headquarters confirmed that the incident took place in Kohistan

The officials further added that the 17-year-old girl engaged to another man, eloped with a 20-year-old man with whom she earlier contacts.

arrested the couple and flogged the duo after convicting them of wrongdoing in a Kangaroo Court, the officials added.
The Taliban group has not commented in this regard so far.
Public flogging and trying individuals in Kangaroo Courts is not rare in the restive parts of the country.
Talibs often flog, kill or stone the victims to death after trying them in Kangaroo Courts in the areas under their control.
