Security in Srinagar intensified following call for march to UN office, Indian soldier killed in border clash

[DAWN] Indian authorities intensified patrols on Friday in Srinagar, occupied Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir . The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....

office to protest New Delhi’s tightened grip on the disputed region.
Police and paramilitary soldiers re-imposed restrictions on traffic in areas where they had been eased, putting steel barricades back up and laying razor wire across roads, bridges and intersections.
Posters bearing the name of the Joint Resistance Leadership, comprising three Kashmiri leaders fighting Indian occupation in Kashmir, appeared on Thursday across Srinagar, urging people to march to the UN office after Friday prayers.
The posters called for preachers to educate the public about the "explosive situation arising from India’s political, geographical and demographic plans" in Kashmir.
India Says Soldier Killed in Kashmir Border Clash
[AnNahar] An Indian soldier was killed by Pak forces on the Kashmir border, the military said Friday, as a tense lockdown in the region of seven million residents continued for the 19th day.
The Indian soldier was manning a post in mountainous Rajouri district Friday when he came under "unprovoked fire" from across the border, local media reports said.
A New Delhi-based Indian Army front man confirmed the incident to AFP.
The death was the fourth claimed by the Indian side since the August 5 decision to strip the region's special constitutional status.
Pakistain's military has said five people including three soldiers have died in shelling by Indian forces.
