Ceasefire deal expires in northwestern Syria, both sides resume attacks
|
[ALMASDARNEWS] The holy warrior forces in northwestern Syria have refused to withdraw from the 20-kilometer-deep demilitarized zone around the Aleppo, Latakia, Hama, and Idlib governorates.
As a result of this withdrawal, the hostilities along the demilitarized zone have once again restarted, with both sides trading attacks along the Idlib-Hama axis.
According to a most a recent report from the Hama Governorate, the Syrian Arab Army unleashed a barrage of artillery and missiles towards the holy warrior-held towns of Zakah, al-Latamnah, and Kafr Zita.
However,

the hostilities have hardly dissipated since the conditional ceasefire was put in place last Thursday, as both sides traded artillery strikes in this same area.
The conditional ceasefire agreement was meant to end these hostilities and prevent the Syrian Army from pushing deeper into the holy warrior-held areas of northwestern Syria, but Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
