Trayvon Martin’s mother Sybrina Fulton is running for office

[NYPOST] The mother of Trayvon Martin is running for a seat on the Miami-Dade County Commission, the Miami Herald reported Saturday.

Since the death of her 17-year-old son, Sybrina Fulton has been advocating for social justice and an end to gun violence.

Martin was shot to death in 2012 by George Zimmerman, a neighborhood crime watch member in Sanford, Fla.

Zimmerman was charged with murder, but was acquitted after claiming he fired in self-defense.

Fulton said she’s not anti-gun, but wants better gun-control measures, including more background checks.

#5 If George Zimmerman hadn't had a gun, no one outside of the local area would have ever heard of Trayvon Martin. There would have been a story about how the body of George Zimmerman was found with severe head wounds, and that police were still looking for his killer.
