[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army sent reinforcements to the eastern countryside of Palmyra (var. Tadmur) after a string of Islamic State

(ISIS/ISIS/IS/ISIS) attacks threatened the safety of the main highway to Deir Ezzor.
According to a military source currently deployed in the Palmyra countryside, the reinforcements will be tasked with protecting the area around the Palmyra-Deir Ezzor Highway, which has been the scene of several ISIS ambushes over the last two weeks.
The Islamic State has often used the vast desert region between Deir Ezzor and Homs to surprise attack the Syrian Arab Army and its allies along this key highway near the ancient city of Palmyra.
