"Acting upon accurate intelligence reports, the pro-government troops of al-Hashd al-Shaabi launched a security operation to track down Islamic State remnants in Makhoul hills," Almaalomah news website quoted the media service of al-Hashd al-Shaabi as saying in a press statement.

"The operation resulted in killing an IS terrorist wearing an boom belt, and destroying a tunnel that was used by the snuffies for hiding and launching attacks against security forces and citizens," the statement read.
