Iraqi troops arrest Islamic State military commander in Kirkuk
Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Iraqi troops arrested on Saturday a military area commander with the Islamic State extremist group in Kirkuk province, Federal Police said in a statement.
A Federal Police force arrested the militant, nicknamed Abu Ragahd, Islamic State’s military commander for the group’s so-called “Dijlah Province”, in Kirkuk, having received an intelligence tip about his presence there, according to the statement.
Interrogations with the militant led police to seizing an arms depot containing hand grenades and detonation equipment, the statement added

Kirkuk (IraqiNews.com) Two people were killed, while a civilian was injured in an attack carried out by Islamic State, southwest of Kirkuk, a security source from the province was quoted saying on Saturday.
“Islamic State militants attacked, today, a village in Hawija town, southwest of Kirkuk, leaving a policeman and a civilian killed, while another civilian was injured,” the source told AlSumaria News.
Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source added, “security troops cordoned off the blast scene and transferred the victims to forensic medicine department. The injured were taken to hospital for treatment.”
