Speaking to the news hounds, Abdullahi Yusuf "Dowlad" said troops were put on high alert following reports of a security threat by the Lion of Islam group in the region.
The movement of the regional forces came after an attack on a security checkpoint in the port city of Bosaso, the regional capital of Bari province.
