[ALMASDARNEWS] On Tuesday, a large group of ISIS fighters posing as refugees managed to infiltrate the Kurdish-held village of Samra some three kilometers east of Raqqa city itself.
Once the camouflaged ISIS Lions of Islam opened fire upon Kurdish checkpoints in the village, heavy firefights broke out between the warring parties after which the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) rushed reinforcements to the village.
Despite skirmishes lasting several hours, the entire group of ISIS turbans was eventually annihilated and one of their boom-mobiles neutralized in the process. Footage of the incident can be found below:

Since the battle for Raqqa began on June 6, the SDF has captured approximately 90% of Raqqa city with major support from the US-led coalition.
