Homs (Syria News) A source informed that strong blasts hit the Syrian regime-held T4 airbase, located in the eastern countryside of Homs, Qasioun News reported on Friday.

Media outlets belonging to the Syrian regime stated that several blasts occurred at the ammunition warehouses in the T4 airbase, causing huge material damages to the warehouses; however, they denied the responsibility of any military or armed group.

Noteworthy, T4 Airbase, also known as Tiyas Military Airbase, is a Syrian Arab Air Force base, located in the Homs Province. The Airbase was used to conduct air strikes against the Syrian opposition forces during the Syrian Civil War.

In December 2016, the Islamic State militants attacked the airbase a day after overrunning pro-government forces in Palmyra.
