FBI translator married ISIS terrorist she was supposed to investigate: report
[NYPOST] An FBI translator who was assigned to investigate a bloodthirsty ISIS terrorist wound up falling head-over-heels in love with the man -- and married him instead, a report says.
Junior translator, linguist, investigator, which is it ?
Daniela Greene, 38, was apparently so lovestruck by the German-born jihadist that she left her husband in the US to be with him in war-torn Syria, and then lied to the feds about her whereabouts, according to CNN.
'Lied to the feds about whereabouts' but kept in contact with friends via email ?
Denis Cuspert — a wannabe rapper-turned-ISIS pitchman — reportedly became the apple of her eye sometime in 2014, despite having a notorious penchant for violence.
An apple in someone's eye no doubt.
Roughly three years after joining the FBI as a linguist, Greene was assigned to the Detroit bureau in Jan. 2014 and asked to probe Cuspert.

By June, she was already smitten by the tatted-up terrorist and making plans to be with him in the Middle East. They reportedly tied the knot in Syria sometime that month.

Greene eventually got cold feet, though, and decided to come back to the US in Aug. 2014. She was immediately arrested upon her return.
He's just not interested in a White House performance.
According to CNN, Greene had been emailing an unidentified person back home about having second thoughts about her decision to pack up and leave soon-after she got hitched.

Greene was arrested immediately upon her return to the states and later agreed to cooperate with authorities. She pleaded guilty to making false statements involving international terrorism in Dec. 2014 and was released from prison in Aug. 2016 after serving a surprising two-year sentence.
'Later' was it? Just a nice quiet plea, no evidence, no media or publicity.
Some have argued that Greene — who now works as a hostess in a hotel lounge — got off easy, compared to other Americans who’ve been prosecuted for ISIS-related crimes.
No need to 'argue' that one.
While Greene’s conduct was described in court papers as skirting “a line dangerously close to other more serious charges,” Assistant US Attorney Thomas Gillice insisted that she receive a lighter sentence on account of her cooperation.

The ISIS savage, known as Abu Talha al-Almani in Syria, is infamous in Germany for his terror-related rap songs.

Performing under the name “Deso Dogg,” Cuspert once praised Osama bin Laden and rhymed about killing then-President Barack Obama.

Greene’s case is just now being reported on account of it being sealed by the Justice Department.
Good morning Attorney General Sessions, we have a special case we'd like to brief you on this morning. Here are your follow-along PPT's sir.
It wasn’t unsealed until after she was done cooperating with authorities, CNN reports.

Yea, more than likely her Case Officer.

'He's constantly deployed and spends all our money on dancing boys in Raqqah. When he's home all he wants to do dope and drink beer. Please send more money. I want out of this op.'

#3 From a CNN article, same topic:

In October 2015, the Pentagon said Cuspert was killed in an air strike near the northern Syria city of Raqqah.

Nine months later, on August 3, 2016, the Pentagon released a statement reversing its assessment of Cuspert's death: "It now appears that assessment was incorrect and Denis Cuspert survived the airstrike."

One day later, Greene was released from federal prison, records show.

If nothing else, interesting timing.

#4 Sound like anyone we know ?

Cuspert's past is well documented, and presents a checklist of social pathologies. Son of a German mother and Ghanaian father, his father abandoned the family when Denis was a baby. The boy was alienated from his African-American stepfather, and was involved in a series of petty criminal act, including drug use. He felt racially ostracized, and said that he had been beaten as a child because of his race.[1]

#9 how do we know for sure that the translator was not simply pretending to fall in love with the jihadi and was in Syria to bring the govt info about ISIS

#11 The Times of Israel reports she was very cooperative, indeed:

Court documents did not explain how she escaped from IS territory, but by early August, less than two months after traveling to Syria, she returned to the United States and was arrested.

She immediately confessed and began cooperating with US prosecutors. Her cooperation “was significant, long-running and substantial,” said an investigator, supporting a lenient sentence.

Ultimately she pleaded guilty to one charge of “making false statements involving international terrorism,” based on what she originally told the FBI about her travel plans. She received a relatively light 24-month prison sentence, and was released last year.
