Biggest ISIS attack in Mount Hamrin foiled
[IraqiNews.com] Chairman of the security committee in Diyala Council Sadiq al-Husseini announced on Tuesday, foiling an ISIS attack in Mount Hamrin in Salahuddin province, stressing that the terrorist group has suffered great losses in lives and equipment.
Husseini said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, "The security forces of Diyala police and the 5th Division backed by al-Hashd al-Sha'bi militia foiled the biggest ISIS attack in Mount Hamrin mountain in Salahuddin," noting that, "The group had intended to sneak towards the liberated areas and strike security post."
Husseini added, “The fierce clashes between the joint forces and the ISIS elements resulted in killing dozens of the latter, in addition to destroying 17 vehicles carrying weapons, explosives and munitions.”
Iraqi forces kill 22 ISIS elements in Hamrin hills
[IraqiNews.com] On Wednesday, commander of Diyali police force announced, that 22 ISIS elements have been killed and two vehicles were destroyed in in a security operation in Hamrin hills.
The commander of Diyali police force Lt. Gen. Jamil al-Shammari stated for IraqiNews.com, "Yesterday evening, a force from the special police units backed by al-Hashed al-Sha'bi militia fighters conducted a security operation in the area of al-Hamrin hills, located in eastern Salahuddin," pointing out that, "The operation resulted in killing 22 elements of the ISIS group and destroying two vehicle carrying weaponry and equipment for them."
34 ISIS elements killed in Tikrit
[IraqiNews.com] A security source in Salahuddin province announced on Tuesday, that 34 ISIS elements have been killed in armed festivities with the joint security forces, noting that they were hiding in different houses in Qadisiyah neighborhood north of Tikrit.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, "Security forces of the federal police and al-Hashd al-Sha'bi clashed with a number of ISIS elements in Qadisiyah neighborhood north of the city of Tikrit," pointing out that, "These elements were hiding in several houses in the neighborhood."
The source, who requested anonymity, added, "The festivities resulted in killing 34 ISIS elements, in addition to killing a senior commander in al-Hashd al-Sha'bi forces and an officer in Salahuddin police."
Iraqi forces kill 9 ISIS elements including French national in Tikrit
[IraqiNews.com] On Tuesday, a security source in Salahuddin province stated, that 9 ISIS elements, including a French national, have been killed in festivities with the security forces in northern Tikrit.
The source informed IraqiNews, "A force from the anti-terrorism units clashed with a number of ISIS bully boyz hiding in the area of al-Shuhada in the neighborhood of al-Qadesiyah, located in northern Tikrit," noting that, "The violent style:dotted;border-bottom-color:gray;' title='clashes'>festivities between the two sides resulted in killing 9 elements of the group including a French national wearing an boom belt."
"The security forces continue to secure to al-Qadesiya and cleanse its areas of explosives," the source added.
Unidentified gunmen kill 2 civilians in eastern Tikrit
[IraqiNews.com] On Tuesday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that two civilians were rubbed out in a shooting spree in Tikrit.
The source stated for IraqiNews.com, "Today, unidentified gunnies have opened fire on two civilians in central Tuz Khormato, located in eastern Tikrit," pointing out that, "Both men fell dead immediately."
"A security force cordoned the area of the incident and transferred the two dead bodies to the Forensic Medicine Authority," the source added.
