Security forces kill 9 ISIS militants in central Tikrit
[IraqiNews.com] On Monday, a security source in Salahuddin province said, that nine elements of the ISIS group have been killed in a security operation in central Tikrit.
The source informed IraqiNews without mentioning any further details, "A force from the anti-terrorism units has managed to kill 9 elements of the ISIS group as they were hiding inside some of the houses in the neighborhoods of central Tikrit."
Earlier in the same day, ISIS turbans conducted a massive attack on sites for the army forces and al-Hashed al-Sha'bi militia fighters in the district of Biji, causing 17 casualties among Iraqi soldiers.
Salahuddin anti-explosives director killed in booby-trapped house explosion north of Tikrit
[IraqiNews.com] A security source in Salahuddin province announced on Tuesday, that the director of the Anti-explosives department in the province was killed in a booby-trapped house north of Tikrit.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, "A booby-trapped house in Qadisiyah neighborhood north of Tikrit area went kaboom! today, killing director of the Anti-explosives department in Salahuddin, Brigadier General Thamer al-Hamdani."
The source, who requested anonymity, added, "Security force cordoned off the scene and transported the body of the dead man to the Forensic Medicine Authority."
New mass graves for Speicher victims found in Salahuddin
[IraqiNews.com] Al-Hashd al-Sha'bi (the Volunteer Fighters) announced on Monday, that new mass graves for the victims of Camp Speicher massacre have been found in Salahuddin.
Al-Hashd al-Sha'bi said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, "New mass graves for the victims of Camp Speicher massacre were found outside the presidential palaces near the Speicher military base."
General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers operations room announced on Sunday (April 5, 2015), the discovery of a number of mass graves for Camp Speicher massacre victims.
Iraqi forces kill 13 ISIS militants, repel attack on southern Biji
[IraqiNews.com] On Monday, Biji Police Command announced, that the Iraqi security forces repelled an attack by ISIS murderous Moslems and killed 13 elements of the group in southern Biji.
Biji district police chief Col. Saad al-Qaisy stated for IraqiNews, "The security forces, with support from volunteer fighters, have managed to repel a violent attack by the ISIS group murderous Moslems on the village of al-Mazra'ah in southern Biji (40 km north of Tikrit)," pointing out that, "The festivities between the two sides resulted in killing 13 elements of the ISIS group including some Arab nationals."
17 security forces and Hashad al-Sha’bi elements killed, wounded in attack in Baiji
[IraqiNews.com] According to a security source in Salahuddin province, 17 elements of the security forces and al-Hashad al-Sha'bi have been killed and maimed in an attack carried out by the ISIS organization holy warriors in Baiji north of Tikrit.
The source said in an interview with IraqiNews.com, "Militants of the ISIS group carried out at dawn today an attack with medium and heavy weapons, targeting a gathering of the security forces elements in the area of al-Fatha, north-east of Baiji, (40 km north of Tikrit), which resulted in killing seven, including elements of al-Hashad al-Sha'bi, and wounding 10 others."
The source, who requested to remain anonymous, added, "The security forces arrived to the scene and carried out a military operation to hunt down ISIS elements, who fled to an unknown area."
