25 Killed, Wounded In Mortar Shell Attack And Tank Explosion In Samara

[IraqiNews.com] On Wednesday, a security source in Salahuddin province announced that 25 people, including security personnel, were killed in mortar shell attacks followed by the kaboom of a booby-trapped tank north of Samarra.
The source said in an interview for IraqiNews.com, ?ISIS fired dozens of mortar shells into Mkeshifah area north of Samarra (40 km south of Tikrit), which resulted in the injury of 7 civilians. The attack was followed by the kaboom of booby-trapped tank, led by a jacket wallah targeted a checkpoint of security forces in the same area; it resulted in killing at least 10 and wounding 8.?
The source, who asked not to be named, said, ?Security force cordoned off the scene, while ambulances rushed to transport the maimed to a nearby hospital and the bodies of the dead to the Forensic Medicine Department.?

A source in the leadership of the Samarra operations said in an earlier interview for IraqiNews.com, “A trapped tanker led by a suicide bomber went kaboom! at noon today, targeting a checkpoint of security forces in Mkeshifah area north of Samarra, (40 km south of Tikrit), resulted in the injury of 7 civilians.”
