6 killed in fresh fighting in Bakool region

HUDUR, Somalia -- At least six people were killed in a heavy fighting erupted between the Somali Federal Government forces and Al Shabaab militants according to witnesses, Garowe Online reports.
Local reports add that other fifteen people were wounded during the fierce fighting which broke out when truckloads of government soldiers began to thrust into Bakool regional capital of Hudur in early hours of Tuesday morning.
The government forces advanced on to Al Shabaab bases in Garasweyne, which situates a few KMs away from Hudur and both sides exchanged heavy fires, Al Shabaab fighters were pushed back but they, were later reinforced by other militants, said an eyewitness in Garasweyne. He added that he saw six people who were killed in the battle including a civilian caught in the exchange of fire.
