Am I reading that correctly? The French army consists of two divisions?

#3 Yes and No.
French armed forces are spread & split into many different branches (and most of them are structured as Cadre + Minimum Meat) so saying that 2 Brigades and a RapidReactionCorps are the only active boots-units of Armée de terre isn't wrong but it also doesn't actually show the whole picture.

Heck, even the ~210k personnel number that is available publicly doesn't even come close to all the shell games those maniacs have been building since 50s.
At this point, all anyone outside that knot can say is that they have less than what they need but a LOT more than they are showing.
