#3 It's always the narrative.
That is a platform they create for their communist take-over of the US.

#4 Drove past Columbine in August 1999. It looked indistinguishable from ADX Florence from the outside except for the lack of razor wire and guard towers. Easy to see how that vibe played into what went down there.

Columbiner sounds like a beer name. I know that's crass, but there it is...

#5 IMO, mass murderers, if they are glorified, is among a relatively small whacko segment of society. It is surprising there are not more incidents considering the widespread exposure to violence. The value for life has been degraded by movies, games, TV and print media. There has been a constant hammering away at religious, moral, cultural, and family values that have often provided a check on behavior in the past. Some few in our society respond to these messages and act out on them.

Years ago, firearms were widely available without all the government restrictions. Mass murders were unknown or at least rare. So, it is not the availability of firearms that result in these mass murders. In addition to firearms, people have used box cutters and airplanes, rental trucks, sarin gas (Japan), cyanide (Jonestown), swords, pressure cookers and explosives to murder people. These things are generally considered one-off things. There is usually silence about control of of any of these items. But for some reason, firearms are considered differently.

Most people who own firearms are law-abiding, responsible, and sane people. I would say, that the obsessive and constant drumbeat for gun control or confiscation every time one these incidents occurs seems a bit unhinged and a little crazy. The call for gun control or gun confiscation happens before anything is really known about the individual(s) who perpetrated the crime.

Could it be that gun control and confiscation is not really about safety and security but about control of the populace? Suppose we did not have the second amendment, as often seems to be desired by many in our society? Suppose it did not exist; would this make us safer? Would this not open the door for tyranny? History would indicate that it would.
