#1 yes that is the only future for the muslim world long-term.

they absolutely have to get religion out of politics and turn it into a faith only

how different might Iraq have been if, after we kicked Saddam out, we refused to put sharia in the constitution

if we had put a soldier on every corner. Emptied Rammstein and Japanese bases and put all the US forces in an occupation on the scale of Germany after WWII

if we had said: religion will no longer be tolerated in the schools or in the police, army or government at any level.

if we had immediately ruled that the secular constitution would not allow sharia in any form, that men and women, gay and straight would be treated as equal

that iraq would be a haven and a beacon across the muslim world for all who were accused of apostasy, for beaten women, for closet homosexuals in fear of their lives, for ahmaddiyas and yazidis and zoroastrians, christians, atheists and jews as well as shia and sunni

do you think anybody would have come?

do you think iraq would be different today?

instead we got "put the sharia in there to keep the muslim powerbrokers happy"

and then we got obama

#2 I always believed you could put a high wall around the ME and give everyone inside a gun and lots of ammo and the problem would take care of itself.

Or just carpet bomb the place anytime a Moslem utters the word jihad or caliphate.
