#2 He wrote a lovely letter of apology to incoming President Trump explaining that he'll have to miss the inauguration. Mrs. Bush was also hospitalized, in her case for exhaustion, I believe.

#3 Barbara Bush has a 'respiratory' infection according to something I read last night. At her age, plus her husbands issues that I'm sure are weighing on her, hospitalization is called for (unless the ACA rules for elderly patients are invoked).

#4 According to a Times of Israel brief, Mrs. Bush has bronchitis, but is responding well to antibiotics. The former president remains stable, his pneumonia not having worsened.
