We kept in touch with a therapist friend of mine, Austin, through phone and text. Austin strongly urged me to leave the party. Hearing that I was suicidal, he proposed that I have myself committed.

#18 I seemed to be the only garden variety anxious-depressive in the ward, and was probably the only one gainfully employed, certainly the sole Ivy League grad. As far as I could estimate, most of the two dozen or so other men and women were homeless or unstably housed and largely suffered from psychosis.

The psych ward was the floor they couldn’t fall below. Or in political terms, it was the safety net. Mostly black or brown, these were the people at the very bottom of the totem pole, the ones Democrats strive to protect and Republicans see as a burden best left out in the cold. Even I, for all my fortune in life, was there among them in the hospital only thanks to the grace of progressive politics, with my Affordable Care Act marketplace health plan picking up the tab. (Thanks, Obama!)

What an execrable little swine he is, to be sure. He has Obamacare, and therefore gets care. Those others -- mostly schizophrenics who live unmedicated on the streets because the insane asylums were closed on the advice of the therapeutic professionals in the '80s --have nothing, not even Medicaid, and they get the exact same care he is given.

You chose a bad, flawed candidate, one who should have been in prison to begin with. Your candidate did not like a large number of Americans and indicated such. As the result, Trump flipped nearly 200 blue counties to win. She had a sense of entitlement as you most likely did also. Bad choices often have bad outcomes. These deplorable, irredeemable folks who Hillary and most likely you condemned lived with a president for 8 years who probably will go down in history as the worst president. So get your therapy, get over it, bitch about it and toughen up buttercup; you might even learn to like it with time.
