#1 Currently my wife and I have 5 Indian, 1 Thai and 1 Iranian doctors, plus the majority of the nurses we have seen are Indian.

#3 It is not just education. Indians come from a society where English is not their first language but its not a second language either. They also come from a society with similar legal and business systems to us.

#6 How about 'human free will', as in making the right choices and being rewarded* (as in Adam Smith's invisible hand). Soon, Indians as the 'new new whites' (right up there with [Far East] Asians).

* not to be confused with the socialist principle of punishing success and rewarding failure.

#7 Had a couple Indian gentlemen in some of my engineering classes. Their folks, from afar, used to 'ride' the heck out of them to study and succeed. In those days, it was by phone and letters (sometimes daily for one of the guys).

Needless to say, they both succeeded, and very well.

Success still has a lot to do with the parents being positively involved, no matter what the 'modern education professionals' tell us.

#8 Many of the Indian immigrants to the US come from the upper class/caste. They are relatively wealthy, so their parents can afford to send them to good schools to get the education they need to emigrate.

Conversely, many of the Mexican migrants come from poor, uneducated families.
