#2 A man being followed by the Joint Terrorism Task Force was shot and fatally wounded by a Boston police officer and an FBI agent Tuesday.

Too bad they couldn't have been working a little more closely together a while back.

#3 The Boston Herald names him, says he's been under surveillance for weeks:

...identified by Boston Police Commissioner William Evans as Usaama Rahim of Roslindale.

And I just heard on NPR that his brother is an imam in California, for what that's worth.

#4 My first reaction to this was "Why did they have to shoot him?" The report didn't make it sound as though he rushed a cop with a knife, more like he walked forward and there were more than one cop there.

I'd like to know "What's up with that?"

Since heard they arrested someone else.

#7 g(r), that would certainly be a reason but I've heard nothing to indicate that that was the thought.

I live in MA so we've seen all the news. Nothing seems to answer the question.
