#2 They still have Soviet (ex-Iraq) and Chinese aircraft. There were reports that the Iranians deployed ex-Iraqi SU-25s to Iraq this past summer.

#3 Phantoms in a ground attack role? An example, I guess, of the Rumsfeldian dictum that you go to war with the obsolete, inappropriate air assets you've got.

As for operating around American air, ValJar would be upset if we shot down an Iranian plane.

#5 As said before, IRAN = SYRIA'S BABY ASSAD = US-NATO/EU's BFF AGZ THE HARD BOYZ IN THE REGION, first agz AQ, then the pro-Qaeda Al-Nusra Boyz, now of late the ISIS aka ISIL.

This should be interesting, + also poten dangerous, given that Anti-Shia/Iran Sunni Turkey is only beginning to flex its MilPol muscles.
